A few weeks ago, I had a sore throat that I thought was just another cold or flu, but this one felt a bit different. It started with just a mild discomfort, but by the third day, I was having trouble swallowing, and it felt like there was something in my throat blocking my airway. I didn't think much of it until I woke up one morning and felt intense pain around my neck and jaw, along with some swelling. I went to the ER, and after some tests, they diagnosed me with something called Ludwig’s angina. The doctor explained that it’s a rare and serious infection of the mouth and neck area, but I was still a bit confused. I started reading about Ludwig’s angina and found out that it can spread quickly and is life-threatening if not treated properly. That scared me a lot. The doctor started me on antibiotics immediately, but I still wasn’t sure what exactly caused it. I hadn’t had any dental problems recently, and I don’t remember any injuries to my mouth or throat, which made me wonder how it happened. I also read that Ludwig’s angina usually develops from a tooth infection, but that didn’t seem to apply to me. Now that I’m recovering, I wanted to know if there’s anything I can do to prevent something like this from happening again. I’ve been thinking a lot about my overall health and how I can strengthen my immune system naturally. Drink warm herbal teas with Tulsi, Ginger, and Licorice to keep the throat clear and prevent infections. Practice Jala Neti (nasal cleansing with salt water) to remove toxins and strengthen the respiratory passages.
