According to Ayurveda, this appears to be a Dant Mamsa Vriddhi (overgrowth of gum tissue), usually due to an imbalance of Kapha dosha, sometimes associated with local accumulation of toxins (Ama) in the oral tissues. It is generally a slow-growing, non-painful condition but should be properly examined and treated to prevent further increase. –Treatment Plan: 1. Kashaya (Mouth rinse): Triphaladi Kashaya or Triphala Kwatha → Gargle 2–3 times daily (lukewarm) 2. Pratisarana (Local application): Yashtimadhu churna + honey → Apply gently over affected gum once daily 3. Internal medicines: Kaishore vatkam – 1 tablets twice daily after food Triphala Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food 4. Dental hygiene advice: Brush twice daily with Neem-based tooth powder or soft herbal brush Warm saline water rinsing after meals —Pathya (Diet): Avoid curd, excessive sweets, cold and heavy foods Prefer light, warm, Kapha-reducing diet —Advice: If growth increases or persists, advise surgical removal + biopsy for confirmation

Hello, This condition, where gum tissue grows excessively without pain, is often referred to as Gingival Hyperplasia. In Ayurveda, this is viewed as Shitad, a condition caused by the vitiation of Kapha and Rakta (blood) doshas, leading to localized swelling and tissue overgrowth. While Ayurveda offers excellent supportive care, flesh-like growth requires a physical examination by a dentist to rule out local irritation or systemic causes. Ayurvedic Management (Kerala Ayurveda) For managing the Kapha-Rakta imbalance and reducing the growth, the following protocol is recommended: 1. Guggulu-Based Internal Medicine Kanchanara Guggulu: This is the primary choice for any “Granthi” (growth) or extra tissue. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily, after food, with warm water. 2. Blood Purifier & Anti-inflammatory Khadirarishtam: Khadira (Acacia catechu) is the best herb for oral health (Dantya) and skin/mucosa issues. Dose: 20 ml mixed with 20 ml of lukewarm water, twice daily after food. 3. Local Oral Procedure (Kavala/Gandusha) Arimedadi Thailam: A specialized oil for all gum and tooth disorders. Dose: Take 10–15 ml of oil in the mouth, swish it for 5–10 minutes (until you feel secretions in the nose/eyes), and spit it out. Do this once daily on an empty stomach.

A painless but gradually increasing gum growth is most commonly due to localized gum overgrowth (gingival hyperplasia), fibroma, or a reactive swelling. Even with good hygiene, it can still occur. What you should do: Continue gentle brushing with a soft brush Avoid trauma (no toothpicks, no aggressive flossing in that area) At home: Warm salt water gargle 2–3 times daily Clove or neem water rinse can help reduce mild inflammation Khadiradi vati – suck 1 tablet 2–3 times daily Triphala churna – ½ teaspoon at bedtime Most important: Since it is increasing in size, you should visit a dentist. You may need: Professional cleaning (scaling), or Minor removal/biopsy if it’s a fibrous growth Early check avoids complications. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

1. Immediate Steps & Dental Consultation Since you have never visited a dentist, this is the most critical first step. Even if it doesn’t hurt, a professional must check for: Local Irritants: Deep-seated tartar (calculus) under the gum line that causes the body to grow extra tissue as a reaction. Fibrous Growths: Benign growths like a “Pyogenic Granuloma” or “Epulis” which are common and easily treatable but won’t go away with medicine alone. Medication Side Effects: Sometimes, blood pressure or anti-seizure medications cause this, though you mentioned being generally healthy. 2. Ayurvedic Oral Hygiene (Kavala & Gandusha) To slow the growth and improve gum health, you can start these traditional practices: *Triphala Gaggulu (Mouth Wash): Boil 1 teaspoon of Triphala Churna in a glass of water, strain it, and use it as a lukewarm mouthwash twice a day. *Irimedadi Taila (Oil Pulling):Take 1 tablespoon of the oil, swish it in your mouth for 5–10 minutes, and spit it out. *Manjistha Churna: Applying a paste of Manjistha and honey directly to the growth for 10 minutes before rinsing
