Inki ushna/tikshna pravriti ulcer ko badha sakti hai. C-section recovery aur stanyapaan ko dhyan mein rakhte hue pehle agni aur ulcer management zaruri hai. —Pitta-shamak, mridu ahar-vihar & ulcer management advised. Review after proper assessment.
Hello, Please continue your prescription medications; do not take prasaranyadi kashayam and yogaraja guggulu while breast feeding. Take care, Kind regards.
Post-C-section recovery requires a careful balance between managing inflammation and ensuring the safety of your newborn. In Ayurveda, post-delivery care (Sutika Paricharya) focuses on balancing Vata Dosha while supporting lactation (Stanya). 1. Safety During Breastfeeding Both Yograj Guggulu and Prasaranyadi Kashayam Vati are frequently used in postpartum care to relieve joint pain and abdominal discomfort. Yograj Guggulu: This is a potent Vata-hara (Vata-balancing) medicine. Most of its ingredients are considered safe, but Guggulu itself can occasionally be quite “heating” (Ushna Virya). In small doses, it is generally considered safe during lactation, but it should be monitored as it may subtly change the taste or digestion of breast milk for the baby. Prasaranyadi Kashayam Vati: This is primarily used for musculoskeletal pain (like backache or shoulder pain common after a C-section). It is generally considered safe for breastfeeding mothers. 2. The Ulcer Concern (The Critical Factor) This is where you must be cautious. Yograj Guggulu contains several spicy and “scraping” ingredients (like Chitraka and Pippali) that increase digestive fire. If you have an active gastric or duodenal ulcer, Guggulu preparations can aggravate the stomach lining, causing burning sensations, acidity, or pain. Prasaranyadi is relatively milder, but most Ayurvedic tablets (Vatis) or concentrated decoctions can be heavy on a sensitive stomach. Avoid on an Empty Stomach: Never take these medicines on an empty stomach if you have an ulcer. Always take them 30–45 minutes after a meal. Use a Protective Medium (Anupana): Instead of plain water, take these medicines with lukewarm milk or warm water mixed with a little Ghee. Ghee (Ghrita) acts as a protective coating for your stomach lining and helps pacify the heat of the Guggulu.
Breastfeeding aur recent C-section ke baad medicines carefully leni chahiye, especially jab severe ulcer symptoms bhi ho. Yograj Guggulu aur Prasaranyadi Kashayam Vati dono body me heat aur digestion stimulation badha sakte hain, isliye severe ulcer me bina direct supervision ke lena suitable nahi rahega. Abhi aapka focus healing, nutrition aur ulcer calming par hona chahiye. Spicy, sour, fried food aur long empty stomach avoid karein. Warm soft food aur proper rest important hai. Breastfeeding continue kar sakti hain. At home: Cold milk in moderation, ghee with food, aur saunf water helpful ho sakta hai. Shatavari granules – 1 teaspoon with milk twice daily Yashtimadhu churna – ½ teaspoon with honey or milk twice daily Kamdudha ras – 1 tablet twice daily after food Yeh ulcer soothing aur post-delivery recovery me support karega. Aapki ulcer pain bahut severe hai, isliye gastro consultation aur proper evaluation bhi important rahega. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
