After angioplasty, it’s essential to allow your body time to recover before introducing new treatments, even if they are natural. Typically, starting ayurvedic medication would be advisable once your cardiologist gives a green signal. Since your cardiologist has suggested avoiding Ayurvedic medicines temporarily, it’s best to be cautious and follow that guidance initially. Typically, a waiting period of about 4 to 6 weeks might be suggested after such medical procedures, but this can vary based on individual health status and recovery speed.

In Ayurveda, the harmony between the doshas, as well as a balanced Agni (digestive fire), is important for health. For heart and liver support, nurturing your agni and balancing your doshas through diet and lifestyle is possible even without additional herbal medicines. Start by incorporating ayurvedic dietary principles. Focus on easily digestible foods which pacify Pitta dosha, as it is often linked with the liver and heart. Consider consuming warm, cooked dishes with mild spices such as turmeric, coriander, and cumin that are beneficial for the liver and heart health. A decoction of Ajwain (carom seeds) or Jeera (cumin) in warm water can be taken daily to enhance digestion and metabolism.

Keep stress in check with Pranayama practices like Anulom Vilom or meditation, as they help manage emotional health, essential for your heart. Please coordinate with your healthcare professional and inform them about any complementary therapies you plan to start; it ensures comprehensive care without medication conflicts. Continuing communication with your cardiologist is key in adding Ayurvedic treatments safely when the time is right. Remember, every individual is unique, and your care plan should reflect personalized attention to your specific needs.
