Postpartum Weight Loss and Pain Management - #44020

So I had a baby six months ago via c section and I’ve been trying to loose weight too. Is there something I can take or just wait? Also I feel pain under my breast like my ribs right side upper. What is the cause?i press it but it’s not painful but once I remove my hands I feel pain. After they check me for 6weeks appointment after birth, they don’t check on me anymore as a mother. What do I do cos I started having this back pains, headaches too. I stated group exercise and dance classes at 3 month cos the pain under breast was becoming intense.

After six months post-C-section, focusing on gradual and holistic weight loss is more advisable than expecting rapid changes. Ayurveda emphasizes balance, so incorporate foods that pacify vata dosha, which tends to imbalance post-delivery. Include warm, cooked meals. Kitchari, a mix of rice and mung dal, can be light but nourishing. Avoid cold or raw foods—these might slow down digestion.

For the pain near your ribs on the right side, it needs careful consideration. Since pressing doesn’t intensify pain but removing hand does, it could relate to muscle tension or nerve compression. These symptoms sometimes result from posture changes or stress after childbirth. Gentle yoga can help—focus on pranayama (breathing exercises) and mild stretches. Try ‘Setu Bandhasana’ (Bridge Pose) to relieve tension around chest and shoulders.

Back pain and headaches post-delivery are common but shouldn’t be ignored. They may link to poor posture, muscle strain, or dehydration. Ensure proper hydration, at least eight glasses of water daily. Consider an Abhyanga (self-oil massage) using warm sesame oil for back relief. This can nourishes tissues and ease pain.

It’s important not to ignore any symptoms. If pain persists or worsens, seeking a medical evaluation is crucial to rule out issues like gallbladder or liver concerns, especially with ribs and abdomen involved. The headaches could stem from multiple factors—stress, fatigue, or even nutritional deficiencies could be contributory.

Engaging in moderate exercises, like dance classes, is generally alright, but ensure it doesn’t strain your body excessively. Start slowly and progress gradually. Maintain consistency but listen to your body’s signals. Prioritize rest and recovery too. Seek professional guidance to tailor an exercise that respect post-partum changes.
