••Eradicating Fungal Infection & Scalp Inflammation (First 4–6 Weeks) Before applying any heavy hair-growth oils, we must eliminate the fungal overgrowth and calm the psoriatic/eczematous lesions. Heavy oils applied to an active infection will feed the fungi and worsen the dermatitis. ••Anti-Fungal & Anti-Inflammatory Scalp Wash: Neem & Karanja Decocotion (Kwatha): Boil 20–30 fresh Neem leaves and 10 grams of Karanja bark/leaves in 1 liter of water until it reduces to half. Filter and let it cool. Use this sterile, potent antimicrobial water to rinse your scalp every alternate day. ••Triphala & Tankana Bhasma Rinse: Alternatively, rinse with Triphala Kwatha mixed with a pinch of Tankana Bhasma (purified borax), which acts as a powerful, non-drying antifungal agent. ••External Application (Lepa): Apply a paste of Maha Marichyadi Taila mixed with Gandhak Rasayan powder gently over the affected patches. Leave it on for 30 minutes before washing it off with your herbal decoction. Phase 2: Systematic Internal Detoxification (Sodhana) In chronic skin conditions of 30 years, external applications only provide temporary relief unless the blood (Rakta Dhatu) and plasma (Rasa Dhatu) are purified. Rakta Prasadana (Blood Purifiers): ••Mahamanjisthadi Kwatha: Take 15–20 ml with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice daily after meals. This is the gold standard classical formulation for chronic psoriasis and eczema. ••Khadirarishta: 20 ml with equal water after meals. Khadira is the ultimate Kusthaghna (skin-disease destroying) herb in Ayurveda. Immune & Inflammatory Modulators: ••Kaishore Guggulu / Neemghan Vati: 2 tablets twice daily. These help reduce the autoimmune inflammatory response driving the psoriasis and eczema. Phase 3: Targeted Hair Rejuvenation (Keshyam) for Stage 5 Baldness Once the scalp is clean, smooth, and free of scales or fungal itching, we can pivot toward reviving the dormant hair follicles. At Stage 5 baldness, structural hair follicle miniaturization is advanced, so our goal is to stimulate whatever viable follicles remain while completely securing the health of the existing hair. ••Therapeutic Hair Oils (Only after Phase 1 is complete): ••Durdurapatradi Taila or Bhringamalakadi Taila: These oils, particularly those prepared in a sesame or coconut base with Dhanyamla or Bhringraj, stimulate the Bhrajaka Pitta, improving localized blood circulation to the follicles. ••Shiro-Abhyanga Technique: Apply oil very gently using the tips of your fingers with light circular motions. Do not rub vigorously, as this can trigger a psoriatic Koebner phenomenon (where trauma induces new lesions). ••Dietary & Lifestyle Pathya (Rules to Follow) Strictly Avoid: Viruddha Ahara (incompatible food combinations like milk with fish or fruit), excessively sour, salty, spicy, and fermented foods (like curd, pickles, and bakery items) which aggravate Pitta and Kaphaja skin toxins. ••Include: Bitter vegetables (bitter gourd, pointed gourd/parwal), pomegranate, and clarified butter (Ghee) in moderation to lubricate the tissues internally.

Psoriasis/eczema of scalp for 30 years with advanced baldness requires proper evaluation. Hair regrowth may be limited if follicles are permanently damaged, but controlling scalp inflammation is important. Take • Mahamanjisthadi Kwath – 15 ml + equal water, twice daily after food • Gandhak Rasayan – 2 tablets twice daily after food • Khadirarishta – 15 ml + equal water, twice daily after food • Neelibhringadi Taila – apply gently to scalp at night, 3–4 times weekly Diet: • Avoid excessive spicy, fried, fermented foods, alcohol, and smoking. • Include fresh fruits, vegetables, and adequate protein.
With a 30-year history of psoriasis/eczema and Stage 5 baldness, Ayurveda may help improve scalp health, itching, scaling, and reduce further hair loss, but regrowing significant hair in long-standing bald areas is unfortunately unlikely. Focus should be on controlling scalp inflammation and maintaining existing hair. Avoid scratching, harsh shampoos, excessive oil application, and stress as much as possible. Keep digestion healthy and avoid very spicy, fried, and processed foods. Mahamanjishtadi Kwath – 15 ml with equal water twice daily Gandhak Rasayan – 1 tablet twice daily after food Khadirarishta – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food Neem oil + coconut oil (mixed) application 2–3 times weekly if tolerated If fungal infection is active, it should be confirmed by a dermatologist, as fungal infections and psoriasis can look similar but require different treatment approaches.
