Malasma and pigmentation issues can be really frustrating, I totally get that. They’re often related to an imbalance of doshas, especially Pitta, which can heat up the skin. First, think about your diet. Maybe cut back on spicy foods and fried stuff, 'cause those can pump up your Pitta even more. Cooling foods like cucumber, sweet fruits like pears or apples, and even coconut water can help balance things out some.
Now, the facial volume you mentioned, or lack thereof, might be because of Vata imbalance, which tends to dry things out. Foods rich in healthy fats like avocados, ghee, and nuts could boost that volume again. Hydration is big too—make sure you’re drinking enough water every day, it’s such a simple trick but often overlooked.
About the milia, Ayurvedic texts like the Sushruta Samhita suggest regular exfoliation. An easy home remedy is a paste made by mixing turmeric powder and chickpea flour (besan) with a bit of water or milk—apply that gently on your face and rinse off after it dries. Be consistent but don’t overdo it, or your skin might get peeved.
Also, consider doing some regular abhyanga, which is self-massage with warm oil—sesame or coconut oil works wonders. It can help nourish the skin and restore the lost vitality. Sneak in a quick face yoga or even some pranayama, breathing exercises, that can relax you and get circulation going.
Real quick though, if your melasma and pigmentation don’t ease up, or the milia’s making you super self-conscious, it’s not a bad idea to see a dermatologist. They can provide insights alongside the ayurvedic way. But, you don’t want to neglect anything if it becomes a bigger concern, safety first buddy! So take some steps, see what works, and tweak what doesn’t.
