Dear Rajesh,

Psoriasis is an autoimmune skin condition that Ayurveda links to an imbalance of Vata and Kapha doshas, leading to toxin accumulation (Ama) in the blood. Long-term relief requires internal detoxification (Shodhana), immune modulation, and lifestyle changes. Before providing a detailed treatment plan, could you answer a few questions to personalize your therapy? 1. Do you experience joint pain or stiffness (Psoriatic Arthritis)? 2. Is your psoriasis worse in winter or with stress? 3. Do you have scalp psoriasis, nail involvement, or patches on specific areas? 4. Have you noticed any food triggers (e.g., dairy, spicy foods, alcohol)? 5. Do you have digestive issues like acidity, bloating, or constipation?

Hello Rajesh Ji, Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition linked to aggravated - Pitta and Kapha doshas, leading to toxin accumulation (Ama accumulation ) in the body. Have you noticed any triggers like stress, certain foods that aggravate the symptoms , or weather changes? Ayurveda focuses on internal detoxification and immune balance to manage psoriasis. Start with Mahamanjishthadi Kwath (15ml twice daily) and Arogyavardhini Vati (1 tablet twice daily) to purify the blood and balance metabolism. Apply Jatyadi Taila or Neem oil on affected areas for soothing relief. Avoid spicy, sour, and dairy-heavy foods, as they aggravate psoriasis. Follow a Panchakarma detox (like Virechana) under expert supervision for long-term relief. Maintain a stress-free lifestyle with Shirodhara or meditation to prevent flare-ups. Let me know if you also have joint pain or digestive issues, as they may be linked. For chronic skin disorders long term management under observation is recommended.

Psoriasis is often linked to imbalances in Vata and Kapha doshas in Ayurveda, causing dryness, inflammation, and skin issues. To address it, Guduchi, Neem, Turmeric, and Triphala help detoxify the body, balance the immune system, and reduce skin inflammation. Aloe Vera can soothe the skin, while Ashwagandha helps reduce stress, a common trigger for flare-ups. A Vata-Kapha balancing diet rich in easily digestible foods, like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, can improve digestion and reduce internal toxins. Panchakarma therapies such as Virechana can be effective for long-term relief.

Ah, psoriasis. It’s quite a persistent fellow, isn’t it? This condition, hanging around for 15 years now with those creams and meds, can certainly be a challenge but there’s hope in Ayurveda. Our approach is all about balance – and I think it might help ease your journey towards long-term relief. But remember, it’s quite a process, not a quick fix cure.

First up, let’s talk about diet. In Ayurveda, psoriasis might arise from an imbalance in your Vata and Kapha doshas, sometimes with some Pitta sprinkled in, and this can influence how you manage your food choices. Try incorporating warm, cooked meals which are easier on your digestion. Go easy on spicy, fermented, or oily foods; they could stoke those doshas into mischief. Load up on fresh veggies, whole grains like rice and barley, and legumes. Oh, and drink warm water – keeps that Agni, or digestive fire, in check.

Now, a few specific remedies. Neem and turmeric are your best pals here – they have been used traditionally for their anti-inflammatory properties. You could consider an oral supplement like a neem tablet, but start small and see how your body reacts. Turmeric powder mixed with milk, sipped warm before bed, might also help calm the inflammation.

Lifestyle-wise, stress is a notorious trigger for psoriasis, keeps people on edge. So, would you look into daily yoga or meditation, atleast for 15-20 minutes? Calmer mind often translates into calmer skin, you’d be surprised.

There’s also a Panchakarma treatment known for detoxifying the body, but this is something you’d want to do under the guidance of a qualified practitioner. It’s a bit like a deep-clean for your system!

Just to mention, if you ever notice severe flare-ups or something that doesn’t quite feel right, do chat with your regular healthcare provider to see what’s going on. Ayurveda can be wonderfully supportive, but it’s usually part of a bigger puzzle when psoriasis gets involved.
