Given your issue of severe hairfall and low hemoglobin, these might be interconnected. Often, hair loss and anemia are linked, as low hemoglobin could indicate a deficit in iron, leading to insufficient nourishment for hair follicles. In Ayurveda, hair fall, or “khalitya,” can also occur due to imbalances in the Pitta and Vata doshas.

Firstly, addressing your low hemoglobin, which is crucial. Increase iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, beetroot, and jaggery in your diet. Also, consuming vitamin C-rich foods like amla or oranges can enhance iron absorption. You could also consider cooking with cast iron cookware, which has been traditionally thought to increase iron content in food. Make it a habit to have a small piece of jaggery after meals along with sesame seeds, it can boost your hemoglobin levels over time.

For hair loss, focusing on what you apply externally is as important as what’s happening internally. Regularly massaging your scalp with warm bhringraj oil or coconut oil can help improve circulation and strengthen the hair. Preferably, do this 2-3 times a week, letting it sit for 30 mins before washing. A herbal shampoo can be a gentler option than harsh chemical shampoos, which might worsen roughness. Use a natural hair mask, perhaps a paste of fenugreek (methi) seeds soaked overnight, applied on the scalp, wash it off after about 30 mins.

Include a stress-reducing routine, since excessive stress can also lead to hairfall. Simple breathing exercises and regular yoga practice like Surya Namaskar, can balance doshas and reduce stress effects.

Additionally, consider checking with your healthcare provider about your hemoglobin, as 8.2 is quite low, and severe anemia might require more attention to bring back balance. Continue a good, nutritious diet and regular checkups to track your body’s progress.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
