which dry fruit is good for hair - #23688

David

I am super worried about my hair lately. I mean, I've been losing more than usual, and I tried all these shampoos but nothing seems to work! A friend mentioned adding dry fruits to my diet might help, but I have no clue which dry fruit is good for hair. I've heard almonds are good? But what about walnuts and cashews? Do they really make a difference? Last week, I noticed my scalp feels kinda itchy, too, and could that be related to what I'm eating? I usually snack on some dried apricots, but should I switch those out for something else? What do you all think? If anyone has experience with which dry fruit is good for hair health and maybe some tips on how to include them in my diet, that'd be awesome! I want to try and get my hair back to the way it used to be, you know? Thanks a bunch!

Almonds are indeed celebrated in Ayurveda for their benefits to hair health due to their high Vitamin E content, which helps strengthen and nourish hair follicles. So, incorporating a handful of soaked almonds into your morning routine could give your hair the nourishment it needs. Walnuts are another excellent choice, packed with Omega-3 fatty acids that help in nourishing and hydrating the scalp, reducing inflammation that may lead to hair loss. As for cashews, they are rich in zinc and iron, which are crucial minerals for hair growth and pigmentation, supporting overall hair vitality.

However, let’s not stop there. In Ayurveda, hair issues often reflect imbalances, particularly of Vata and Pitta doshas. Since you mentioned an itchy scalp, this could signal a Pitta imbalance, possibly aggravated by spicy or oily foods. To address this, you might want to introduce calming dry fruits like figs and dates into your diet, which also support gut health and further enhance nutrient absorption.

You asked about dried apricots; while they do provide vitamin A which supports skin health, they may not specifically target your concerns right now. Instead, try those almonds and walnuts daily, maybe toss them over your breakfast cereal or sald. Small changes like these can slowly help restore balance.

And remember, alongside the dietary suggestions, it’s essential to maintain a good hair care routine, ensuring scal comfort and proper cleansing to address itching. Oils such as (coconut oil with a few drops of cooling essential oils like lavender) can be massaged into the scalp to aid in that regard.

Lastly, if none of this helps and your hair loss continues or new symptoms arise, consult your healthcare provider to rule out any underlying conditions that might require immediate attention!

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
