how to make amla juice for hair growth - #24229

Sophia

I am really struggling with my hair lately! Like, it feels so thin and lifeless, ugh. I heard that amla juice can be great for hair growth, but I have no idea how to make amla juice for hair growth!! I even bought some fresh amla and it’s sitting in my fridge, but the face of it seems so complicated! I tried to look up some recipes online, but they all seem different and I just feel overwhelmed. Some say I need to mix it with water, others say I should strain it. Also, what’s the best way to use it after making the juice? Like, can I just apply it to my scalp or do I have to drink it? I am curious if that’ll help too. I had this one cousin who swears by amla juice for hair growth, and her hair looks amazing, but honestly, I don’t want to mess this up. If anyone can share a simple, easy way to make amla juice for hair growth and tips on using it, that'd be super helpful. Thanks a bunch!

Start by washing the fresh amla thoroughly. Remove the seeds and cut the fruit into small pieces. Now, to make a simple amla juice, take a blender and add these amla pieces with a bit of water. Blend until smooth. Then, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or a muslin cloth to separate the juice from the pulp. This will give you a pure amla juice that’s ready to use.

For hair growth, you can use the juice externally or internally. For applying it onto your scalp, mix the amla juice with a bit of coconut oil or olive oil. This helps in easy application and avoid drying. Massage this mixture onto your scalp gently for 10-15 minutes. Let it sit for an hour or so before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Regular use, around 2-3 times a week, could definitely contribute to healthier hair if consistently done.

You can also drink amla juice too, though in moderation. It’s rich in vitamin C and antioxidants which bolster hair health from within. Start with mixing about 20-30 ml of amla juice in a glass of warm water. You can add a spoon of honey or a pinch of salt to ease its sour taste. Have this in the morning on an empty stomach for better optimal absorption.

Keep in mind, consistency holds key here. Balanced diet with inclusion of amla, alongside external application, tends to show better results. Also, consider your dosha type—Vata, Pitta or Kapha—before including any new practice. If there’s any distinct imbalance, specific herbs and adjustments might be necessary, based on classical Ayurvedic teachings. And do make sure to check any existing allergies or conditions which might conflict with amla use. If in doubt consult with an Ayurveedic practitioner.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
