how to use multani mitti for pimples - #24267

Jack

I am dealing with these annoying pimples that just won’t go away, ugh! I tried so many products, and nothing seems to help. Recently, I remembered my grandma talking about multani mitti, and I thought maybe I should try it? I heard it’s great for acne and skin issues, but honestly, I have no clue how to use multani mitti for pimples effectively. Like, do I mix it with something? Should I apply it daily or just a couple of times a week? I've read about how it supposedly absorbs excess oil and helps with blemishes, but I’m kinda nervous about how my sensitive skin will react. Should I do a patch test first or something? I just want clear skin again! If anyone has tips on how to use multani mitti for pimples and perhaps a recipe or two that worked for them, I’d be super grateful! Thanks, guys!

Multani mitti, also known as Fuller’s Earth, is indeed an excellent option for managing acne, thanks to its ability to absorb excess oil and help clear impurities from the skin. Here’s how you can use multani mitti for pimples effectively:

First, a patch test is always a good idea, especially if you have sensitive skin. Apply a small amount of multani mitti paste to your wrist or behind your ear and wait for 24 hours to see if there’s any reaction. This will save you from potential irritations on your face.

To create a face mask for acne, start by taking 1 tablespoon of multani mitti in a clean bowl. Mix it with rose water for its soothing properties or plain water if your skin is very reactive. You could also add a few drops of lemon juice, which has astringent properties and can help with acne, or a pinch of turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory benefits. If your skin gets dry easily, a little honey can be added to this mixture for its moisturizing and antibacterial properties.

Apply the paste evenly on your face, avoiding the eyes and lips. Allow it to dry for about 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water. Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Start by using this mask once a week to see how your skin reacts. If it’s well-tolerated, you can increase the frequency to 2-3 times a week.

Being mindful of overall skincare routine is also essential. Ensure you are using a mild cleanser to wash your face daily and a non-comedogenic moisturizer to maintain skin hydration without causing breakouts. Keep an eye on your diet too: reducing intake of sugar, and fried foods, and staying hydrated can support skin health. Avoid touching your face frequently to reduce pimple formation.

If your skin continues to be problematic despite these efforts, consider consulting with a dermatologist who can offer more tailored advice specific to your skin’s needs.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
