how to cure hirsutism naturally - #25761

Violet

I am struggling with hirsutism and honestly, it’s really affecting my confidence. I’ve been dealing with excessive hair growth for a few years now, mostly on my face and arms. It started right after my teenage years and has gotten worse lately. I read somewhere that hormones can play a big roll in this, but I’m not sure how to approach it. I’ve tried shaving and using hair removal creams, but the results are only temporary, and it’s really irritating my skin. I’ve also looked into diet changes and even thought about yoga, cause someone said that can help balance hormones? But still, I feel lost. What are some natural ways to manage or even how to cure hirsutism naturally? Is there something specific ya'll would recommend? Maybe some herbs or foods I should include in my diet? I feel like I need a more holistic approach, but it’s hard to know where to start! Thanks for any help!

For hirsutism, finding balance within your body is crucial. As you mentioned, hormonal imbalances often play a major role in this condition. In Ayurveda, hirsutism can be seen as an imbalance in the Pitta and Kapha doshas, as well as a sign of hormone disturbances, particularly linked to androgen levels.

First, consider evaluating your diet. Incorporating foods that help balance hormones is a good start. Include fresh fruits and vegetables, with an emphasis on leafy greens like spinach or kale, which help in detoxification. Cruciferous vegetables, like broccoli and cauliflower, may aid in metabolizing excess androgens. Aim to reduce intake of spicy, oily, and processed foods as they can aggravate Pitta and increase hormonal imbalances.

Herbs can also be beneficial. Shatavari and Ashwagandha are both adaptogens known in Ayurveda for their role in balancing hormones and supporting overall endocrine health. You might try taking these in a standardized form available at health stores, but consulting with a practitioner spcialized in Ayurveda to determine the right dosages is adviced.

For topical application, turmeric paste is recommended for facial hair, as it holds both anti-inflammatory and gentle hair-reducing properties. Mix turmeric powder with milk or water, apply generously to the affected areas and rinse after 15-20 minutes.

Daily practice of yoga and pranayama, such as Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) or Surya Namaskar, can support hormonal balance as well. Establishing a routine helps in regulating hormones and calming the mind.

Lastly, ensure your digestive fire (agni) is strong, as it plays a significant role in overall health. Sipping warm ginger tea or cumin water after meals can aid in maintaining a good agni.

These natural methods might take time to show results, so patience and consistency are key. If hirsutism persists or worsens, seeking a qualified health professional, possibly an endocrinologist, is advisable for further evaluation.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
