The pigmentation you’re experiencing is a common issue post-hysterectomy due to hormonal imbalances. In Ayurveda, this is often linked to Pitta dosha imbalance, which can manifest as hyperpigmentation. Here’s how you might approach this issue with Ayurvedic principles.

First, focus on balancing your Pitta, which is crucial. Reduce intake of foods that increase Pitta such as spicy foods, sour items, alcohol, and caffeine. Favor cooling, sweet, and mild foods such as cucumber, coconut, and dairy products. Drink plenty of water, especially infused with cooling herbs like fennel seeds or mint leaves.

Secondly, incorporate Ayurvedic herbs known for their skin benefits. Apply Turmeric paste mixed with water or milk directly on the spots for 15 minutes daily. It’s know to have anti-inflammatory and brightening properties. Additionally, use Aloe Vera gel, naturally sourced if possible, to soothe and lighten the skin.

Neem is another excellent option for skin health. Boil neem leaves, strain, and use this water to wash your face regularly. Internal cleansing can be beneficial too; Triphala churna taken with warm water before bed can help regulate your digestive fire, agni, which in turn promotes healthy skin by removing toxins.

Daily meditation or gentle yoga can help manage stress, supporting overall hormonal balance. Bhrami and Ashwagandha are helpful adaptogens that may further aid in balancing hormones; consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for appropriate dosages.

Finally, always do a patch test before trying new substances on your skin. If the condition persists or worsens, it’s important to seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional who can asses you comprehensively, taking into consideration all aspects of your health history and lifestyle.

To address pigmentation on the face, particularly following hormonal changes like a hysterectomy, it’s important to consider the underlying imbalances that might be contributing to this condition. In Siddha-Ayurvedic understanding, skin pigmentation issues are often related to Pitta dosha imbalance, as Pitta governs skin health and pigmentation.

Firstly, internal balance is crucial. Begin with consuming a Pitta-balancing diet: reduce or eliminate spicy, sour, and excessively salty foods. Include more cooling and naturally sweet foods like cucumbers, sweet fruits, and aloe vera juice. Ensuring proper hydration by drinking coconut water can also be beneficial.

Externally, try making a paste with turmeric and chickpea flour mixed with rose water. Apply this mask to your face once or twice a week. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and is known for its ability to lighten pigmentation over time. Be careful, though, as turmeric can stain the skin temporarily, so make sure to rinse well.

Triphala churna can help detoxify and cleanse the body, which may reduce pigmentation from the inside. Take about a teaspoon in warm water before bedtime. Also, look into using a natural oil like Kumkumadi Tailam, which is traditionally used to enhance skin glow and address pigmentation concerns. Apply it at night and wash off in the morning.

Managing stress through yoga and meditation will also support hormonal balance and skin health. If pigmentation persists or worsens, it may be advisable to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor a more specific plan for your condition.
