Addressing hair loss involves understanding your unique constitution (prakriti) and potential dosha imbalances. Hair loss typically relates to an imbalance in Vata and Pitta doshas. Begin by treating this imbalance with dietary and lifestyle changes.

First, incorporate a Vata-Pitta pacifying diet. Emphasize foods that are nourishing and cooling. Include whole grains like rice and wheat, and incorporate fresh fruits such as mangos and grapes. Vegetables like cucumbers, sweet potatoes, and bell peppers are beneficial. Avoid spicy, acidic, and fried foods as they can aggravate Pitta and, indirectly affect your hair health.

Hydration is crucial; drink warm herbal teas or plain water throughout the day. Herbal supplements like Amla (Indian gooseberry) help strengthen the hair roots. You can consume it as a juice or powder mixed with honey.

Regularly oiling your scalp can also support healthy hair. Use coconut oil or bhringraj oil for scalp massage at least twice a week. This not only nourishes the hair but also enhances blood circulation to the scalp, promoting hair growth.

For high cholesterol, focus on a Kapha-balancing diet. Limit sugars and fatty foods. Consume a moderate amount of healthy fats like nuts in small quantities. Increase intake of garlic, a natural remedy for cholesterol.

Regarding periods lasting only two days, an imbalance in Vata dosha may be contributing to this. Regular use of sesame oil in your diet or as part of an Abhyanga (self-massage) might help balance this. Consuming warm spices like ginger and fennel can also support menstrual health.

Given the complexity of your concerns, consider an in-depth consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. They’ll offer more personalized guidance. Urgently, get regular check-ups with a doctor for the cholesterol and menstrual issues, especially if there’s any sudden change.

Hair loss and thinning often relate to imbalances in your body, particularly concerning your dosha balance and the condition of your sapta dhatus, especially the rasa (plasma) and rakta (blood) dhatus. Addressing these issues requires a holistic approach that involves diet, lifestyle, and specific herbal remedies.

Firstly, focus on your diet to pacify Vata, which when aggravated can lead to hair thinning. Increase your intake of healthy fats like sesame oil, ghee, and foods rich in proteins such as lentils and almonds. Ensure that your meals are warm, and well-cooked, and include rich flavors like sweet and salty which can soothe Vata.

Incorporate scalp massages using warm Coconut or Bhringraj oil twice a week. This can enhance blood circulation to the scalp and nourish the hair follicles, supporting healthy hair growth. Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes before washing.

For your cholesterol, focus on fresh vegetables, especially leafy greens and whole grains to enhance your agni and lower cholesterol. Avoid refined sugars and processed foods.

As for your menstrual cycle, irregularities need careful attention. Herbs like Shatavari can help balance hormones and regulate menstrual cycles. Consulting with a local practitioner may provide more personalized advice based on your Prakriti and specific symptoms.

Remember to practice stress-relieving techniques such as pranayama or yoga, as stress can exacerbate Vata and Pitta imbalances, further affecting your hair and overall health. If any of these conditions worsen, or if you experience other symptoms like significant fatigue or dizziness, seek immediate medical attention.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
