Psoriasis is often seen as an imbalance in the doshas, with Pitta and Vata involved, leading to the symptoms of dryness and itching you’re experiencing. For dealing with this condition naturally, you can approach it through both lifestyle and dietary changes while using some simple Ayurvedic remedies.

First, let’s focus on your diet. Reducing Pitta-aggravating foods could be beneficial—limit spicy, sour, and fermented items while incorporating cooling foods like cucumbers, melons, and sweet fruits such as pears and apples. Including bitter leafy greens such as kale, spinach may help balance Pitta. Avoid excessive intake of processed foods and stay hydrated by drinking ample water and herbal teas like chamomile which have a soothing effect on the body.

From an external perspective, coconut oil is a great option for your scalp. It has natural cooling and moisturizing properties, gently massage a small amount onto your scalp and leave it overnight, then rinse in the morning. Coconut oil mixed with neem or tea tree oil can be applied to reduce inflammation as well.

Internally, you might consider Triphala. It’s a classical Ayurvedic formulation known to support digestive health, mix half a teaspoon of Triphala powder in warm water and take it before bed.

Additionally, maintaining a regular schedule with adequate sleep and stress-reducing activities such as meditation or yoga can support overall health, as stress is known to exacerbate psoriasis symptoms.

Since you’ve observed sensitivity to Amla shampoo, try switching to milder, natural cleansers, like Reetha (soapnut) which gently cleanses without irritation. If the shampoo isn’t providing relief, discontinuation might be wise.

In severe psoriasis cases on the scalp or if you experience heightened symptoms, it’s crucial to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or dermatologist for personalized treatment. Ayurveda emphasizes preventive and holistic health over quick fixes, so patience and consistency are key to managing this condition effectively.

Psoriasis, including on the scalp, is often seen as a reflection of underlying imbalances, perhaps affecting your digestive fire, or agni, and your doshas, especially pitta and vata. The products you’ve used could have aggravated this imbalance, or perhaps the body’s response is to something deeper. Here are few Siddha-Ayurvedic remedies and lifestyle alterations to consider.

First, focus on calming the vata and pitta doshas. Incorporate cooling and soothing foods like coconut water, cucumber, and sweet fruits into your diet. Avoid spicy, hot, and oily foods as these can irritate your system further. Consider having a small amount of ghee daily; its anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe internal heat.

For external treatment, make a paste with aloe vera gel and a bit of turmeric powder. Apply this gently to your scalp for about 30 minutes before rinsing. Aloe vera cools and hydrates, while turmeric can reduce inflammation.

To support gut health, triphala powder is renowned in Ayurveda for its ability to cleanse and rejuvenate the digestive system. Take it with warm water before bedtime, but ensure the dosage is suitable for your individual constitution.

Incorporate a daily routine (dinacharya) to realign your body’s natural rhythms. Start your day with a simple oil pulling with sesame or coconut oil, and practice deep breathing exercises to reduce stress, which can worsen psoriasis.

Avoid harsh chemical shampoos; instead, wash your hair with a mild herbal concoction like Amla powder mixed with water.

If there’s no improvement, or if it worsens, consulting a healthcare professional, specializing in Ayurveda, is recommended to evaluate any additional underlying causes_balance these approaches carefully with professional medical advice.
