Revinto Neem & Lemon Soap - #30628

Aria

I am really struggling with some skin issues, and need advice. For the last few months, my skin has been breaking out, like, a lot, and it’s been frustrating trying to find something that helps. I was at my friend’s place when I found this Revinto Neem & Lemon Soap laying around, and she swore by it for keeping her skin clear. I thought, why not give it a try? I’ve used it for about a week now, and I mean, at first, it seemed to do wonders. My skin felt fresh and kinda clean, but then I started noticing some irritation around my cheeks, almost like it was too abrasive? I am also not sure if I should use it once or twice a day – what’s the recommendation? I read that Neem and lemon can be good for acne and even skin brightening, which is a big yes for me. Has anyone else tried Revinto Neem & Lemon Soap and had similar experiences? Is it normal to feel a bit of irritation or should I stop using it altogether? Really hope to hear some experiences here because I want clear skin without the irritation, ya know?

Neem and lemon indeed have a history in Ayurvedic care, often praised for their antimicrobial properties and ability to enhance skin clarity. Neem is renowned for its cooling properties and ability to pacify Pitta imbalances that could lead to skin issues like acne, while lemon can provide brightening benefits, aiding Kapha balance by exfoliating dead skin and controlling excess oil. However, it’s crucial evaluate the root causes of your breakout. In Ayurveda, breakouts could be the result of imbalances in Pitta dosha, usually aggravated by diet, stress, or excessive heat exposure. There can also be sensitivities involved.

Your experience with irritation suggests that while the soap initially worked, it could potentially be affecting your skin’s natural barrier, especially if your Prakriti leans more towards a sensitive or Vata-type skin, which may react strongly to its exfoliating nature. The soap’s effectivity largely depend on your specific skin type and current dosha balance.

Using the soap once daily is generally recommended to reduce the risk of over-exfoliating and thus preserving natural oils necessary for healthy skin. Your irritation around the cheeks might mean that the skin there is more sensitive. If irritation persists, it would be prudent to discontinue use and allow your skin some time to recover. Addressing skin issues holistically through personalized diet reflects a key principle of Ayurveda. Focus on amapachana by incorporating warm, easily digestible foods like steamed vegetables and lentils, avoiding spicy, fried or excessively oily foods.

You’ll also want to cultivate routine hydration, perhaps considering external hydration with natural oils such as coconut or jojoba to soothe and restore moisture balance, applied gently post-cleansing. A regular dinacharya, like face yoga or mild abhyanga massage, could further enhance skin health.

If your symptoms don’t improve, it might be best to consult an Ayurveda practitioner who can provide a personalized regimen based on a deep understanding of your dosha, lifestyle and seasonal influences on your skin’s health.
