Lalas Multani With Banana Powder - #32192

Hannah

I am really confused and seeking some advice on this. I’ve been trying this homemade remedy called Lalas Multani With Banana Powder, after reading about its benefits for skin. Just a week ago, I had this terrible breakout—like, super bad. I thought maybe my skincare routine needed a change, you know? A friend recommended mixing Lalas Multani with banana powder saying it’s great for acne and gives a nice glow. I did a patch test, and it seemed fine, but man, my skin reacted weirdly afterward! I followed the ratio my friend suggested, thinking it was foolproof. I used two tablespoons of Lalas Multani and one tablespoon of banana powder, added water to make a paste, and applied it for about 15 mins. At first, my skin felt cool, but later it became kinda itchy and red! Is that normal? Did I mess it up?? I’m not sure if I should continue using Lalas Multani in this way or try something else. Can someone tell me why it reacted like this? Or if there’s an ideal way to mix or use Lalas Multani With Banana Powder that might be safer for me? Feeling really frustrated here! TIA for any tips!!

Your skin’s reaction could be due to a couple of different reasons, primarily sensitivity to the ingredients or the method of application. Lalas Multani mitti, also known as Fuller’s earth, is renowned for its ability to absorb excess oil and impurities from the skin. When combined with other ingredients like banana powder, it can indeed offer benefits like reducing acne and improving skin texture. However, every skin type is unique and can react differently to certain products.

The combination of Multani mitti and banana powder seems quite common for oily skin types due to the balancing properties of the mitti and the vitamins present in banana, which offer nourishment. But the itchy and red reaction you experienced suggests some form of irritation or sensitivity – possibly due to how long it was left on or just overall incompatibility with your skin type.

To address this, several adjustments could be considered. Try reducing the amount of Lalas Multani used. Instead, start by using just one tablespoon of Multani mitti with one tablespoon of banana powder. Mix with rose water instead of regular water to enhance the soothing properties. Apply for only about 10 mins to see if your skin tolerates this revised mixture better; less is often more especially with sensitive skin. It’s crucial to rinse off immediately at the first sign of discomfort.

If redness and itching persist or worsen, discontinue using this particular combination altogether, and consider a simpler routine focusing on calming ingredients like aloe vera gel or coconut oil to soothe irritation. Before you try again, introduce any new product or homemade remedy slowly. Allow your skin some time to adapt to changes. Monitor your skin closely and seek advice from a dermatologist if any severe reactions continues or flare up again.

Mixing Lalas Multani (commonly known as Fuller’s Earth) with banana powder is a popular remedy touted for managing acne and imparting glow. However, the reaction you described indicates potential sensitivity or imbalance. In Ayurveda, skin issues like acne often point to an aggravation in Pitta and sometimes Kapha doshas, manifesting as heat or oiliness, and your skin’s itchiness and redness align with this interpretation.

Lalas Multani has cooling properties which generally help reduce Pitta, but applying it too frequently can sometimes irritate sensitive or reactive skin, especially when the skin barrier is compromised or there’s underlying Pitta imbalance. The banana powder adds a soothing element but might not be enough to counteract the overall drying effect of Multani, potentially leading to irritation.

Considering these insights, make sure your skin isn’t overly sensitive to such treatments. Here are a few adjustments to consider:

Before you apply the face mask, hydrate your skin. Use a gentle moisturizer or a base like organic aloe vera gel to prep your skin, which might buffer against harsh reactions. Adjust the mixture’s hydration levels, making sure the paste isn’t too thick or drying. Instead of plain water, consider mixing Lalas Multani and banana powder with cooled chamomile or rose tea for additional calming benefits.

Apply the mix for a shorter duration—maybe 5 to 10 minutes—to see if this reduces redness or itchiness. Introduce the treatment sparingly, perhaps once a week at first, and observe how your skin responds. Lastly, always conduct a patch test on the inner arm before applying it to your face, even if it once seemed fine.

If your skin continues to react adversely, it suggests this combination might not suit your skin’s prakriti. It might be prudent to explore other more suitable treatments and consult a professional if needed. Never sacrifice skin safety for potential benefits!
