AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil - #34644

Daniel

I am really curious about something. A few weeks ago, I started using AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil for my skin because I was having these really annoying dry patches on my elbows and knees. I've tried other oils before, but this one just smelled amazing and felt nice too! Anyway, I thought, why not give it a shot? So I applied it regularly like the bottle suggested, but I noticed my skin kinda started to get irritaded and a bit itchy after some days. Is that normal with AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil? I mean, it felt soothing when I applied it, but then later I was like, "Wait, did I just mess things up??" And my friend said maybe I was allergic or something, but I really loved the smell, and it felt good initially. Also, I’ve read some reviews where people said it worked wonders, making their skin super soft. Am I doing something wrong? Should I keep using it even though of the irritation? I don't want to waste it or my money, but I'm also super worried about my skin getting worse. Anyone had experience with AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil and can offer some advice?

AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil is typically used in Ayurveda for a range of skin conditions due to its blend, which includes coconut oil infused with herbs traditionally known for their nourishing properties. However, skin reactions can vary greatly from person to person, and irritation like the one you described isn’t uncommon. There are several factors to consider when it comes to adverse skin reactions:

First and foremost, irritation could potentially signal an allergic reaction, as your friend suggested. The unique herbal blends in the oil might include an ingredient that your skin is sensitive to. It’s common for natural products to contain a complex mix of compounds, some of which might not agree with all skin types. To test for this, you might want to try a patch test. Apply a small amount of the oil on a discreet area of your skin, like the inner forearm, and wait 24 hours to see if any reaction occurs. If irritation appears, it’s wise to discontinue use.

In your case, ensure that the applications are light, and not more than once daily, as thick layers may not allow the skin to breathe properly, potentially causing issues like the ones you’re facing.

Also, skin barrier health is key. Sometimes the oil can, at first, feel soothing while temporarily masking dehydration; yet if the skin’s barrier is compromised due to previous harsh treatments or environmental factors, even the best oil blends might not be suitable. It’s often recommended to follow oil applications with a gentle moisturizer to lock in the benefits without overwhelming the skin.

If you are hesitant to stop but want to continue reaping the benefits, consider diluting the coconut oil with another carrier oil to reduce potential irritation until your skin adjusts.

Ultimately, if the problem persists, consulting a dermatologist or an Ayurvedic physician can provide deeper insights tailored to your individual skin type and condition. They can help determine whether continuing with the product is advisable or recommend different treatments suited to you.

It seems like your experience with AVP Asana Eladi Coconut Oil isn’t quite what you were hopping for. It’s common for individuals to react differently to certain herbal formulations, as Ayurvedic treatments can have varying effects based on one’s dosha balance, prakriti, and specific skin sensitivities.

First, let’s address the irritation. Even though you’ve enjoyed the initial sensation and aroma, it’s possible that a component in the oil is triggering an adverse reaction. Ingredients like Ela, Vasa, and Asana have distinct properties, and while generally soothing, they might not be suitable for every skin type, especially if there’s a latent sensitivity or allergy. The coconut oil base, typically nourishing, could be aggravating if your skin’s natural oil production is already high or if there’s a propensity for Pitta imbalances.

To better assess this, you might first stop using the oil and observe if the irritation subsides. This will help determine if the oil is the direct cause. Consider performing a patch test before resuming use — apply a small amount on a less sensitive area, like the inner forearm, and wait 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs. If the patch test goes well and you choose to continue using it, consider moderation — perhaps applying it only 2-3 times a week rather than daily. Your skin might also benefit from rotating with a simpler, perhaps less intense oil like pure coconut or almond until it’s more acclimated.

Moreover, to tackle the dry patches, keep in mind the importance of internal balance. Supporting your skin with hydration, a balanced diet rich in healthy fats, and staying attuned to your body’s dosha balance can also be vital. If irritation continues or worsens, it might be wise to consult a healthcare professional for tailored advice.
