SNA Valiya Chandanaadi Oil - #34977

David

I am feeling really desperate right now. A few months ago, I started experiencing some skin issues — really dry patches that itch non-stop! 🙁 I’ve tried all sorts of creams and ointments, but they just don’t work. A friend recommended SNA Valiya Chandanaadi Oil, saying it helped her family with similar problems. I thought why not give it a shot?! But then I read some mixed reviews and now I’m kinda second-guessing myself. I’ve used the oil for about two weeks, and while I can feel some relief on my skin, the dryness kinda comes back really fast. Is that normal? Like, should it take longer for me to see results, or am I just doing something wrong here? Also, is there a specific way to use SNA Valiya Chandanaadi Oil for the best results? I’m just applying it twice a day, but maybe I need to like massage it in more or something? I really wanna get this under control because it’s driving me crazy, and I feel myself just scratching all the time. 🤦‍♀️ Any advice would be super appreciated! Thank you guys!

SNA Valiya Chandanaadi Oil is traditionally recommended in Ayurveda for skin conditions involving dryness and itchiness, thanks to its cooling and soothing properties. Your experience of temporary relief followed by returning dryness is not unusual when treating with this type of oil. It can be part of a gradual process, especially if the skin issue is chronic or has been persistent for months.

Applying the oil twice daily is a good start, but rubbing it slightly to improve absorption could enhance its efficacy. When you apply the oil, ensure your skin is clean and slightly moist, as oils generally lock in moisture better this way. Gently massage the oil into the skin using circular motions, which can improve circulation and aid absorption. Ideally, let it sit for at least 30 minutes before rinsing or covering up, if possible. You may also consider using a gentle, natural moisturizer after the oil absorbs, to help lock in hydration.

The itching suggests a possibility of a Pitta or Vata imbalance, typically characterized by dryness and irritation. While the oil provides external relief, addressing internal imbalances through diet and lifestyle is equally crucial. Incorporating hydrating foods such as cucumbers, watermelon, and coconut water can help internally moisture the body. Warm meals with healthy fats like ghee or sesame oil could also support Vata pacification.

In addition, managing stress levels, staying hydrated, and ensuring regular bowel movements can impact the skin. Avoiding excessively hot showers or harsh soaps that strip natural oils is key. If symptoms persist, consulting with a dermatologist or a certified Ayurvedic practitioner is recommended to tailor a more specific treatment plan. Persistent or worsening symptoms may require a combined approach of both conventional and Ayurvedic methods for optimal results.

Based on what you’ve mentioned about your skin issues and your use of SNA Valiya Chandanaadi Oil, you’re already on a promising path. This oil is traditionally known for its cooling properties, largely due to ingredients like sandalwood, which are beneficial for managing Pitta imbalances often related to skin conditions like dryness and itchiness.

Since you’re experiencing some relief but still facing persistent dryness, it might not be just about the oil itself, but how it’s used. Apply the oil generously but consider leaving it on a bit longer before washing it off. Instead of just twice a day, try a gentle massage when applying, especially in the evening, to help it penetrate deeper. Massage it in circular motions for about 5-10 minutes. Warm the oil a little by placing the bottle in some warm water before use, which can enhance absorption.

You mentioned that your dryness returns quickly, suggesting there may be an underlying cause like aggravated Vata dosha. Incorporate hydrating foods, warm herbal teas, and avoid overly dry or processed foods. Increase your intake of ghee or healthy oils in your diet, as they can nourish the skin from the inside out.

Additionally, external treatments like oils can only manage symptoms if the root cause persists internally. Focusing on balancing your Pitta and Vata through diet, lifestyle, and stress management can lead to more sustainable results. If dryness and itchiness continue, yes consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to dig deeper into your individual dosha imbalances. They might suggest additional herbs or changes in your routine. It’s crucial to address possible internal factors to effectively bring the skin back to balance.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
