Revinto Ingaal Activated Charcoal Soap - #35455

John

I am really struggling with my skin lately, and I don’t know what to do. A few weeks ago, my friend recommended Revinto Ingaal Activated Charcoal Soap, saying it worked wonders for her acne. I thought, "why not give it a shot?" but honestly, it's been hit or miss. It's like, my skin sort of felt cleaner after I used it, but then I noticed that I had these weird dry patches creeping up, which totally wasn’t what I expected. It's frustrating, right? Like, is that normal when using activated charcoal soap? I thought activated charcoal would be all good and help clear my pores or something! Also, do I need to use it every day? I've been going at it twice a day and now I'm worried maybe I’m overdoing it or it’s just not agreeing with my skin type. Like, one day my skin feels okay, but then it freaks out, you know? Has anyone else experienced this with Revinto Ingaal Activated Charcoal Soap? Should I stick with it or try something else? I just wanna get my skin under control without all these weird reactions! Help!

Activated charcoal, often praised for its ability to detoxify and deeply cleanse the skin, can indeed have varied effects depending on one’s skin type and condition. The Revinto Ingaal Activated Charcoal Soap may be too potent if your skin is experiencing dryness or irritation, a sign it possibly is stripping away essential oils along with impurities. Dry patches can happen; they’re usually a clue the soap is altering your skin’s moisture balance unfavorably. Over-cleansing, which might be occuring if you’re using it twice daily, could exacerbate this further. Scaling back to once daily or even every other day could help mitigate the dryness.

Charcoal’s nature is absorbing, if your skin is more sensitive or naturally dry, the soap might be over-absorbing essential oils, causing imbalance. Generally, it suits oily or combination skin better due to its ability to reduce excess sebum and clear clogged pores. Since each person’s prakriti (constitution) varies, responses to skincare products will differ too.

Consider introducing some moisture back into your regimen. A nice, hydrating Ayurvedic oil, with cooling properties, like coconut or rosehip oil, applied after cleansing can nourish and restore natural oils. Always apply to damp skin for better absorption. Also, you should avoid using charcoal products alongside other exfoliating products like scrubs or acids.

Regarding whether to continue using it, observe how your skin responds with reduced frequency and if nourishing measures do alleviates dryness. If issues persist, it might be worth exploring milder cleaning options suitable for your dosha balance. Neem-based soaps or chandan-turmeric cleansers often provide gentler alternatives useful for maintaining harmony without stripping moisture.

Ultimately, activated charcoal is remarkably effective for deep cleansing, but it’s crucial to tailor usage based on personal skin tendencies and reactions. If unsure, consulting with an Ayurvedic dermatologist can provide a more tailored strategy considering your skin type and dosha imbalances.

Using activated charcoal soap, like the Revinto Ingaal Activated Charcoal Soap, may indeed give mixed results, primarily depending on your skin’s nature, or Prakriti, in Siddha-Ayurvedic terms. Acne often signals an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, leading to excess heat and inflammation. While activated charcoal can aid in drawing out impurities, its effects may vary based on individual skin types. If you notice dryness and dry patches, you could be experiencing an imbalance in Vata, which needs to be balanced to alleviate the symptoms.

With skin care, less can sometimes be more. Overwashing with soap twice daily, especially with something potent like activated charcoal, can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness. I suggest reducing the usage to once every other day and observe how your skin responds. It’s crucial to follow it up with a gentle yet nourishing moisturizer, perhaps one that contains a calming herb like Aloe Vera or Cucumber, to restore moisture and pacify any aggravated doshas.

Consider incorporating an oil massage with sesame or coconut oil before bedtime twice a week to balance the Vata dosha, ensuring your skin doesn’t dry out. In addition, pay attention to your diet. Consume cooling foods if your Pitta is high – think cucumbers, melons, and fresh fruits.

If the dryness becomes severe or you see no improvement, it’s advisable to stop using the soap and consult with a healthcare professional. You may consider looking into products suited to sensitive or balanced skin that won’t inadvertently disturb your skin’s equilibrium. Remember – when in doubt about a product, it’s essential to listen to your body and be patient with the process.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
