how to use flax seeds for hair growth - #36656

William

I am really struggling with my hair lately. Like, I used to have such thick hair, but now it feels so thin and lifeless. I heard that flax seeds can help with hair growth, but I'm not really sure how to use flax seeds for hair growth. Do I eat them? Apply them on my scalp? I read somewhere that grinding them might be good but then someone said using them whole could work too? Like, what's the deal? I tried mixing them in smoothies, but honestly, I don't notice any difference yet (and I’m pretty impatient). I even thought about making a flaxseed gel to put on my hair, but I’m kinda scared that’ll be a mess. Also, do I need to do this daily or is there a specific schedule? Oh, and I’m not sure if it actually works for everyone or just for some people. I mean, would it really help my hair or just give me, like, fancy flax-seed-scented hair? Any info on how to use flax seeds for hair growth would be super helpful! Thanks a bunch!

Flax seeds are indeed beneficial for hair health, thanks to their rich content of omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, and antioxidants. To make the most of these tiny seeds for hair growth, there are a few effective ways to incorporate them into your routine.

Firstly, consuming flax seeds is quite beneficial. You mentioned smoothies, and that’s a great start. Ground flax seeds are more digestible and allow your body to absorb nutrients better compared to whole seeds. Aim to consume about 1-2 tablespoons daily. You can add them to oatmeal, yogurts, or even baked goods if smoothies aren’t your daily go-to.

Externally, flaxseed gel can be an excellent hair application. It’s relatively easy to make at home. Boil 1/4 cup of flax seeds in 2 cups of water until it reaches a gel-like consistency, then strain the seeds out. Allow the gel to cool and apply it to your hair as a styling gel or overnight treatment. It might be a bit messy at first, but the results could be worth it. Rinse it out in the morning and see how your hair feels after a few uses. Most find it beneficial to use 2-3 times a week instead of daily, to avoid over-moisturizing.

Consistency is key with any natural remedy. While some might notice changes quickly, others may take a few months to see significant results. Flax seeds work well for most, but it’s important to note that individual results can vary depending on your unique hair type and lifestyle.

Hair issues may also be indicative of an imbalance in your body, so consider factors such as your overall diet, stress levels, and genetics. If you’re dealing with a significant hair loss, it may be wise to seek an Ayurvedic assessment to determine any dosha imbalances that might be contributing.

Remember to keep your flax seeds fresh, as they can spoil. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Incorporating flax seeds is about patience and persistence, so don’t feel discouraged if you don’t see immediate changes. Hope you find this helpful!
