how to increase volume of hair naturally - #36796

Grayson

I am really struggling with my hair lately. Like, every time I look in the mirror, it feels thinner, and I just can’t shake this feeling that I need to do something about it. My friends have even commented, saying it looks flat and lifeless, which honestly hurts a bit, you know? I’ve tried a bunch of store-bought products, but they never seem to work out like they say they will. A few weeks ago, I started researching how to increase volume of hair naturally because I read somewhere that natural remedies might be better for my scalp and hair health. I even tried massaging coconut oil in, and while it smelled great, I didn’t see much change. Also, I’ve been cutting back on heat styling and using more gentle shampoo, but I still feel stuck. How do I even know what’s right for my hair type? Like, are there specific herbs or oils that really help? I heard something about amla or fenugreek but not sure how to use them. And like, do I need to change my diet too? Any tips? Really need some advice on how to increase volume of hair naturally before my next event! Thanks, guys!

Increasing the volume of your hair naturally involves paying atention to both external and internal factors. Ayurvedic principles offer some valuable insights. First, let’s address external treatment. You mentioned coconut oil, which is a great starting point. However, infusing it with herbs like Brahmi or Amla can enhance its properties. Heat a few spoons of coconut oil with dried Brahmi leaves or Amla powder, let it cool, and then apply it to your scalp a couple of times a week.

Fenugreek seeds are also beneficial. Soak a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds overnight, and grind them into a paste. Apply this to your scalp and leave it on for about 30 minutes before rinsing. It’s got proteins and nicotinic acid which strengthen hairs.

For an internal approach, diet plays a crucial role. Protein-rich foods, such as legumes, nuts, and seeds, are essential as hair’s primary component is keratin, a protein. Iron-rich foods like spinach, jaggery, and beetroot can enhance your hair’s texture and strength. Stay hydrated, as dehydration affects hair quality. Herbal teas like hibiscus or rosemary may also foster a healthy scalp environment.

Additionally, practice stress-reducing activities. Stress can alter hormones contributing to hair loss. Incorporate yoga, meditation, or deep-breathing exercises into your day to help maintain balance.

While you’ve wisely reduced heat styling, minimize it further by favoring air-drying your hair and using a wide-tooth comb when detangling.

Finally, it’s crucial to tailor these recommendations to your individual needs. Observe how your hair responds to different treatments. If challenges persist or worsen, consult a specialist for a personalized assessment. Every individual has a unique constitution according to Ayurveda, and treatments might vary. Regardless stay gentle and patient with your hair journey for natural volume enhancement.

To increase the volume of hair naturally, it’s important to take a holistic approach by considering your dosha imbalance, diet, lifestyle, and suitable hair care practices. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, hair thinning or flatness often links to an imbalance in Vata dosha, which can cause dryness or brittleness, and Kapha dosha, leading to excess oiliness and heaviness.

Firstly, assess your current oiling practice if coconut oil alone didn’t work. You might consider mixing equal parts of coconut oil and castor oil, known to help add density due to its thick nature. Warm the oil blend slightly before application and gently massage it into your scalp, which can promote blood circulation and stimulate hair growth. Leave it overnight and then wash it out in the morning.

Concerning herbs, both amla and fenugreek can indeed benefit hair. Amla, rich in vitamin C, can strengthen hair follicles and promote volume. You might use it as a powder mixed with water into a paste, applied directly to the scalp. Allow it to sit for half an hour before rinsing. Fenugreek seeds can be soaked overnight and ground into a paste as well, acting as a natural conditioner that enhances volume and reduces hair loss.

Adjusting your diet can play key role too. Eating foods rich in iron and protein like legumes, nuts, seeds, and green leafy vegetables supports the sapta dhatus, particularly the meda (fat) and majja (marrow). Include sesame seeds and almonds, which nourish the scalp and strengthen hair roots.

Evaluate your stress levels and sleep patterns, since Vata imbalances are often aggravated by stress and insufficient rest. Practicing meditation or gentle yoga could balance your Vata and Kapha doshas. Reduce processed foods and excessive sugar, helping to keep Kapha dosha in check as it can lead to sluggishness in the body, affecting hair health.

Remember, natural remedies can take time to show visible results, so consistency and patience are important. If changes remain minimal or hair thinning worsens, consulting with a healthcare professional may be necessary to rule out underlying health issues.
