डॉक्टरों की प्रतिक्रियाएं

Shikakai, reetha, and amla are indeed classic Ayurvedic ingredients known for their hair-cleansing and nourishing properties, but they can sometimes lead to dryness, especially if used frequently or inappropriately based on your hair type and dosha. The dryness suggests a possible imbalance in Vata dosha, while excessive hairfall can be linked to Pitta or Vata imbalances. Let’s address these concerns.

For the dryness, consider adjusting the frequency of use. Use this mixture not more than twice a week. To help balance Vata and retain moisture, try adding a bit of coconut milk or aloe vera gel to the mixture before application. These ingredients can provide hydration while still allowing the herbs to cleanse your hair effectively.

To ensure that the mixture removes oil effectively without overdrying, it’s essential to soak shikakai, reetha, and amla thoroughly before use and ensure they’re adequately strained. A common practice is to soak these ingredients in warm water overnight, then boil and cool before applying, to ensure that the saponins and beneficial compounds are fully released.

Internally, to support hair health and address potential Pitta imbalance, consider incorporating Triphala or Amla supplements into your routine. These aid digestion and reduce oxidative stress which could be affecting your hair. You can take 1 teaspoon of Amla powder mixed in water daily—ideally in the morning.

Additionally, focus on a balanced diet rich in omega-3 and protein, helpful for hair strength. Consider sesame oil scalp massage weekly to pacify Vata, applying it gently and leaving for an hour before washing off. If hairfall persists or worsens, a consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner may be necessary for personalized dosha assessment and treatment.
