For hairfall, there are several potential causes in Ayurveda, from lifestyle imbalances to diet deficiencies. One key factor is the Vata dosha imbalance. To help rebalance Vata, you can start by adjusting your daily routine. Incorporate oil massage with warm almond or sesame oil into your regimen—focus on scalp first. Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes before washing it off with a mild herbal shampoo. Additionally, ensure your intake of amla—Indian gooseberry—it can be consumed fresh or as a juice; it’s excellent for nourishing the hair and scalp.

To support hair growth, explore adding Bhringraj (Eclipta alba), a herb known for its hair fortifying benefits, to your wellness routine. You can use it in oil form for scalp application or internally by taking powder or capsules, ensuring it’s consumed properly advised by a practitioner to match your body constitution.

Diet plays a pivotal role, so prioritize warm, cooked meals rich in vital nutrients, like proteins and iron - think lentils, leafy vegetables, whole grains, nuts like almonds, and seeds such as sunflower or sesame.

Now, about elbow pain—this discomfort might be due to Kapha and Vata imbalance affecting the joints. Begin incorporating gentle stretching exercises focusing on the entire arm and joints, avoiding strain. Consider turmeric as part of your diet. It has been praised for its anti-inflammatory properties; add a dash of it to warm milk as a daily beverage. External application of a paste made from ginger and salt on the affected area could also bring relief, though it should be done cautiously to monitor skin reaction.

In addition to these, I recommend keeping stress levels in check through deep breathing exercises or yoga, as stress interacts negatively with Vata, potentially exacerbating both hairfall and joint pain.

For both conditions, monitor any changes. If there’s serious concern, persistence—or escalation—in symptoms, do seek professional medical attention.

Hairfall and elbow pain can have several underlying causes, often relating to imbalances in your doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha). In Siddha-Ayurvedic terms, hairfall may point towards an aggravated Pitta dosha, affecting the skin and hair’s health. Elbow pain could be linked to an imbalance in Vata, impacting bones and joints.

For hairfall, start by addressing Pitta imbalance. Integrate cooling and nourishing herbs like Brahmi and Amla into your routine. These can be consumed in forms like churnas or herbal oils. Applying Amla oil directly to the scalp before washing twice a week may support hair health. Internal detoxification can also help; consider Triphala at bedtime to gently cleanse and balance your system.

Elbow pain needs attention to Vata imbalance. Use warm sesame oil to massage the elbow daily, which helps promote joint lubrication. Specific herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari can also be taken to support bone health and reduce Vata stress. Ensure you maintain joint movements with exercises like gentle elbow rotations, but avoid overstraining.

Diet is important; prefer warm, nourishing foods, avoiding excessively spicy or acidic items that provoke Pitta. Maintain a balanced regimen with adequate rest, as stress can exacerbate both hairfall and joint pain. Hydration is crucial, so drink cooling infusions like coriander seed water.

However, if pain or hairfall worsens, or other symptoms like swelling or redness arise, prompt medical evaluation is vital to rule out conditions requiring immediate intervention. Always consider consulting a healthcare professional for tailored guidance.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
