For nourishing and rejuvenating your skin and hair, I recommend using Sesame oil (Til oil) for body massage and Bhringraj oil for your hair. Sesame oil is rich in antioxidants and acts as a natural moisturizer, deeply hydrating and softening the skin while also promoting skin elasticity, which can help reduce wrinkles. For your hair, Bhringraj oil can be massaged onto the scalp to improve hair health, prevent dryness, and stimulate hair growth. You can also blend it with a little coconut oil for added nourishment. Regularly massaging the oil into your skin and scalp, followed by a warm shower, will help restore moisture and promote a healthy, glowing complexion and shiny, soft hair. Additionally, include nutrient-rich foods like ghee, nuts, and fresh fruits in your diet to support hydration from within.

Namaste Pooja ji,

For dry and rough skin and hair, Ayurveda recommends:

Body Massage Oil: Ksheerabala Taila: Excellent for nourishing dry skin and reducing wrinkles. Dhanvantaram Taila: Improves skin texture and complexion. Warm Sesame Oil infused with Turmeric or Amla can also be used. Hair Care: Bhringraj Oil: Strengthens hair, adds shine, and reduces dryness. Coconut Oil infused with Amla and Brahmi: Deep nourishment for dry hair. Neelibhringadi Oil: Promotes healthy, smooth hair. Additional Tips: For hydration, apply Aloe Vera gel after bathing. Include foods rich in omega-3 (like flaxseeds) and cow ghee for internal nourishment. Use a gentle herbal shampoo like Shikakai and avoid chemical-based products. Regular oil massage (Abhyanga) and a balanced diet will restore your skin and hair health. Dhanyavad.

Dry skin and hair, huh? That sounds like a classic imbalance with Vata dosha. When Vata gets crazily out of whack, it can suck the moisture out of everything, so we gotta calm it down. Let’s start with your skin. A great choice for nourishment is sesame oil. It’s warming and deeply penetrates the tissues (dhatus), helping to lock in moisture and provide tons of softness. Before your shower, gently warm some sesame oil and massage it in circular motions on your body – more like loving little circles on joints and long strokes on long bones. Let it sit for like 15-20 mins; kinda like a spa day at home.

For your hair, the wonder oil is Bhringraj oil. Ever heard of it? It’s like magic for dry hair! Just warm a bit, massage into your scalp and hair strands twice a week. Leave it on for at least an hour or overnight if you can. Rinse out with a mild, herbal shampoo. And oh, don’t skip the scalp massage - it boosts circulation and encourages healthy hair growth.

Now, about those wrinkles – definitely good old almond oil could be your friend! Rich in Vitamin E, apply a tiny bit daily on the hands and legs in the evening and massage. Those wrinkles might just smoothen out.

Oops almost forgot! Always stay hydrated. Lots of warm, herbal teas, maybe with a pinch of ginger or a cinnamon stick. Make sure your diet’s not too dry or rough - soups, stews, moist foods are winners. Add ghee to your meals for added unctuousness.

Lastly, try some pranayama like Nadi Shodhana to balance your doshas and calm your body & mind. Small shifts, big changes! But, if these aren’t helping or your condition gets worse, definitely consider checking with a healthcare provider. Better safe than sorry. 💡
