For persistent dull skin and frizzy hair, Ayurveda suggests focusing on nourishing and balancing from within, as skin and hair health often reflect internal factors such as digestion, hydration, and dosha imbalances. Dull skin may be linked to aggravated Vata and Pitta doshas, leading to dryness, lack of radiance, and rough texture. Frizzy hair also indicates dryness and Vata imbalance, affecting moisture retention.

To enhance skin glow naturally, incorporating daily Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame or coconut oil can be beneficial. Massaging the skin before a bath helps nourish it, improving circulation and promoting a natural glow. Triphala churna can be taken in small doses before bed to detoxify the system, enhance digestion, and support radiant skin over time. Additionally, consider including aloe vera juice or amla (Indian gooseberry) in your diet, as they are rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, which help rejuvenate the skin.

For frizzy hair, a weekly hair massage with bhringraj or coconut oil infused with hibiscus flowers can help moisturize and tame frizz. Avoid excessive washing and use natural or mild shampoos to maintain hair’s natural oils. A diet rich in healthy fats, like ghee and nuts, also supports healthy skin and hair from within. Hydrating well and including seasonal fruits, leafy greens, and foods rich in Omega-3 can further enhance skin and hair health.

Lastly, practicing stress-relief methods like meditation or Pranayama (breathing exercises) can help balance doshas and support healthy skin and hair.

Hello Sushmita, Have you checked all your nutrient levels ? also, done your CBC ESR CRP just to see if there is any inflammation in the body ? Are you eating well and drinking enough amount of water & maintaining a healthy lifestyle? All these factors are very important for the skin to be in its healthier form and have a natural glow. Also, check your ion levels and vitamin D, Deficiency of these can lead to poor skin. Practice Pranayam and exercise every day, at least for 30 to 40 minutes. Sleep atleast for 7-8 hours. Make sure that you don’t have constipation. Also de stress regularly. You can take Syp Mahamanjishthadi 10 ml everyday on empty stomach with warm water.

It’s like, so frustrating when you’re like putting all this effort into your skin and it just doesn’t want to cooperate, totally get it. You’ve got that dullness thing going on. And frizzy hair too, huh? You’re dealing with some Vata imbalance—think of it as energy patterns being a little off-kilter.

Anyway, here’s what I think might help. First up, let’s talk about your skin. The dullness might be from poor blood circulation or like, toxins just hanging out there. Try using warm sesame oil—it’s often suggested in Ayurvedic texts—to do a gentle self-massage before you shower. Just warm up a bit, rub it in, wait like 15-20 minutes, and then wash it off. This can help improve circulation and remove toxins.

Now for your diet. Ayurveda is really big on what you eat having a direct effect on your skin. Try incorporating foods that balance Vata: think warm, moist, and nourishing. So like, oatmeal, good fats like avocado and ghee, and root veggies. And you’ll wanna keep away from too much caffeine or anything cold and dry.

If you’re stressed (which is another Vata provocator), maybe try meditation or yoga. Even just 10 minutes of deep breathing every day. It works wonders.

And that frizzy hair. Jeez, I know the struggle - coconut oil is your friend. Maybe put a little in your hair overnight, a few times a week, and just wash it out in the morning. And don’t forget to keep hydrated. Water or some herbal teas - maybe try some warming spices like cinnamon.

If you’re still not seeing any changes, chat with an Ayurvedic doc in person. Seriously. They could help pinpoint any deeper problems that need tweaking.

Hope this helps. It’s a journey, you know. Just be patient with yourself and your body.
