I am wondering if is it good to eat curd at night, because I've heard mixed things and it’s confusing. Last week, I had a pretty heavy dinner and then later on I craved curd. I thought, why not? It's packed with probiotics and all that, right? But then, my aunt started saying that eating curd at night can cause digestive issues and affect sleep. I’m not sure what to believe anymore! Honestly, it feels like every meal I try to enjoy is now followed by a wave of worry. Last month, I had digestion problems after trying to count calories and eating too much salad. Then I was told to eat more curd for the good bacteria. Ugh! I don’t know. Last few nights I had curd right before bed and then I woke up feeling bloated! I read somewhere that for some people, is it good to eat curd at night, but for others it might not be? My question is, should I keep eating curd at night or just avoid it? Like, is there a right time to eat curd depending on the body's doshas or something? Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!

From a dosha perspective, it’s recommended that curd should ideally be consumed during the daytime when the digestive fire, or Agni, is stronger. During the day, your body is more efficient at processing heavier foods, reducing the likelihood of bloating. Try having your curd with lunch and see if that feels better on your system.

Moreover, if you feel the need for probiotics at night, consider alternatives like buttermilk or thin yogurt, which are lighter on the stomach.
