Seeking Ayurvedic Treatment for H. Pylori and Gut Health - #41860

Client_8fbca0

Hello Doctor, I was facing Acid reflux and poor digestion and constipation issue & Allopathy doctor confirmed that this is GERD issue and the issue lie in stomach lining. I tried few allopathy medicine few days it was good but when stopped medication. The issue was still there. Another doctor asked me to do this H-Pylori test and when did this test HPylori was Positive and then we did endoscopy. REport says Esophagus: Grade A- Easophagitis seen, GE Junction: Hiatus Hernia seen Dudenum D1: Multiple erosions seen D2: Normal Endoscopic opinion:- Hiatus Hernia with Mild Reflux Esophagitis. Erosive Duodenitis RUT (H-Pylori): Positive I Approached a holisitic treatment: They explained very well about the HPylori. THey said this is one of the common bacteria where 90 percent of the Indians will have in the stomach. When our good bacteria count becomes low then we phase this issue and bad bacteria will dominate and the result will be reflux, bloating and ulcers. They said they will get tihs "GUT MICROBIOME TEST" done and check what kind of good bacteria and what kind of prebiotic and probiotic natural food my bodycan adjust and induce plant based good bacteria into the body. Now, my question is in Ayurveda do we have any treatment for HPylori... if not, are there any medicines when we can rebuild the good bacteria and healthy intestines. Thank you

For managing Helicobacter pylori and improving gut health through Ayurveda, the primary focus is on restoring digestive balance, healing the mucosa, and strengthening the gut flora. Ayurveda doesn’t target specific bacteria, but the approach indirectly alleviates their impact by enhancing the body’s own defence mechanism.

Start with dietary adjustments to balance Pitta dosha, which is often responsible for hyperacidity and inflammatory conditions. Consume cooling and alkaline foods like cucumber, watermelon, and coconut water. Avoid spicy, oily, and heavily fermented foods as they aggravate Pitta. Eating meals at regular intervals helps maintain digestive fire (Agni).

Herbal treatments can offer relief and support. Triphala, a blend of three fruits, is known for its mild laxative and detoxifying properties which support gut health. Take Triphala powder, about 1 teaspoon, mixed in lukewarm water at bedtime. Licorice root (Mulethi) is soothing to the stomach lining and can be taken in powdered form, about half a teaspoon, with warm water daily.

Ashwagandha and Amalaki (Amla) are excellent for their rejuvenative properties. They can help restore the mucosal lining and improve overall immunity. You might consume Amla juice, 20 ml, in the morning with water on an empty stomach.

Including probiotics through natural sources like homemade yogurt (curd) is beneficial. Ensure it’s taken in moderation and during the daytime for optimal digestive assimilation.

Adequate hydration supports detoxification. Boiled and cooled water stored in a copper vessel overnight can balance the three doshas, enhancing digestion and healing the gut.

Ayurvedic therapies like Abhyanga (oil massage), followed by a gentle steam bath, can promote relaxation and balance of doshas. Yoga postures like Pavanamuktasana (wind-relieving pose) and Vajrasana (thunderbolt pose) aid in improving digestion and alleviating gut discomfort.

If symptoms are severe or persist, consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner. Always integrate Ayurveda alongside conventional treatments under medical supervision, ensuring no delay in necessary healthcare.
