Seeking Guidance on Livomyn and Triphala for Health Improvement - #41867

Client_03cff5

Dear Doctor, My eGFR level is 70 as of Nov 2025. It was 78 when done in Nov 2024. Also, I have raised bilirubin levels. Bilirubin levels are always high, since I have unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia. So I don't worry about that. Present symptoms: Always feeling too tired and weak. TSH levels are normal, although I have had Hypothyroidism since 1994. Presently on 75mcg. I want to know if I can take Livomyn tablets ( Charak Pharmaceuticals) OR Triphala Tablets? Can that improve my health conditions? I am a 52 years old male. Please kindly guide.

Given your specific health concerns, especially around chronic fatigue, impaired kidney function, and unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia, considering Ayurvedic supplements requires a nuanced approach. While Livomyn is marketed as a liver tonic, it contains ingredients like Bhumi Amla and Kasni, which can support liver health, whether it could interact beneficially with your specific condition should be discussed with a local healthcare provider who knows your complete medical history.

Triphala, a blend of Amla, Haritaki, and Bibhitaki, is traditionally used for its detoxification and rejuvenative properties, and could be potentially beneficial for your overall vitality and digestion. However, with your eGFR at 70 which indicates a mild decrease in kidney function, it is crucial to maintain adequate hydration and monitor for any adverse effects. Triphala is usually considered safe, consumed either in tablet form or, preferably, as a churna (powder) taken with warm water or honey before bedtime for its gentle laxative and tonic effects.

Given your age and hypothyroidism history, regular monitoring of kidney function and thyroid levels remains important to effectively manage any supplements you may take. It’s critical to understand how these herbal products might interact with your current medication, or affect your underlying conditions, considering the long-term nature of your hypothyroidism.

Before starting either Livomyn or Triphala, you might want to discuss with your healthcare provider who can evaluate potential benefits versus risks, based on your complete medical profile and lab reports. Remember that dietary and lifestyle modifications, like consuming a balanced diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, can complement any supplement you decide to take. Regular physical activity, stress management techniques, and adequate rest are also pivotal in bolstering energy levels.

Ultimately, personalizing Ayurveda to align with your unique health, with professional guidance, will provide the best results.
