Seeking Ayurvedic Solutions for Fecal and Bladder Incontinence - #41964

Client_543fab

Hi Im female 22 I have incontinence fecal and bladder from injuries as a child. They didn’t fully heal I was wondering about at home bastis? In my country I don’t think I can legally get one. Ive seen blogs of homemade coconut oil pills? My pull to Ayurveda is because I’m really interested in all the possible healing I could do. I’ve been changing my diet and self massage and breathwork and listening to Sanskrit songs. I do feel curious about anything incontinence related I could try to help. Diet alone isn’t enoughbecause it’s part nerve and muscle based. Thank you I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thank you for sharing Ayurveda

What you have shared shows a lot of strength because living with bladder and bowel incontinence from old injuries can be emotionally and physically exhausting Your interest in Ayurveda and care. You have already giving yourself through diet, self massage, breath work, and Healing music shows that you’re listening to your body and trying to support it in every gentle way possible That alone is a beautiful beginning

I want to reassure you about one important thing. First, your condition is not simply due to diet. You are absolutely right that is connected to nerve and pelvic muscles that did not fully heal after childhood injury Mandeep Nav supplied to the pelvic floor becomes weak, the muscles loose stone, and control over urination and bowel movements becomes unpredictable This is not your fault, and it is not something you caused

Ayurveda can help, but it has to be done in a safe way. You mentioned home bastis and coconut oil capsules I want to be very honest with you years, so you do not hurt yourself Internal enemas or oil insertion done at home without guidance, can sometimes worsen leakage or irritate the rectum, especially in someone with Nerve related weakness Blogs often make it sound simple, but medically. They are not harmless procedures. I would not advise home-made bastis or coconut oil pills because they can create more laxity instead of strengthening the nerves

What is safe and truly helpful in Universe situation is strengthening from outside first Warm oil massage over the lower abdomen hip, lower back and thighs. Every day with sesame oil will stimulate the nerve and gradually tone the muscles. For internal support, you can start Ashwagandha churna Shatavari churna Half teaspoon each with warm milk at night Bala churna 1/4 th teaspoon each with warm water after meals Gokshuradi guggulu Chandraprabha vati One tablet twice daily after food with warm water You can do pelvic floor exercises, similar to Kegel which help return the muscles without training them, you can do safely at home. Once you understand the correct technique over time, you can see noticeable improvement.

Addressing fecal and bladder incontinence requires a comprehensive approach, within the context of Ayurveda, tailored to your specific needs. Basti, a therapeutic enema mentioned in Ayurveda, is a cornerstone for managing vata dosha imbalances, often associated with nervous system and muscle-related issues. Since performing a traditional basti at home could be difficult due to its complexity and need for supervision, other practical methods are available.

Introducing dietary adjustments that calm vata and strengthen digestion can play a significant role. Include warming, nourishing foods like cooked grains, soups, and stews. Favor sweet, sour, and salty tastes over bitter, pungent, astringent flavors that might aggravate vata. Ensure you hydrate regularly with warm or room temperature waterand herbal teas like ginger or fennel tea to support digestion and overall hydration.

Self-massage (abhyanga) with warm sesame or ashwagandha oil can be beneficial for calming vata, nurturing muscles, and improving nerve health. If bladder and bowel control is partially nerve-based, including bhastrika or anulom-vilom pranayama might improve nervous functions. These breathing exercises are acknowledged for their balancing effects on the autonomic nervous system.

Regarding coconut oil pills, ensure any supplements or treatments are safe and don’t conflict with your current condition. A professional Ayurvedic practitioner could guide their use or alternatives better suited to your specific needs.

Yoga asana, like pavanamuktasana or janu sirsasana, gentle stretches that engage core and pelvic muscles, may also support muscle tone and strengthen areas affecting continence. Regular practice within your comfort level is key.

In situations where legal or professional support isn’t accessible in your area, consider remote consultations with certified Ayurvedic practitioners. They might offer personalized recommendations and clarify any techniques or treatments in a way that respects local regulations and ensures safety.
