how to take dashmularishta - #42541

Lucas

I am really confused about how to take dashmularishta. I started using it a couple of weeks ago because I've been feeling super fatigued and honestly a bit overwhelmed. My energy levels just tanked after I had a bad flu, and I need to get back on track. My friend recommended dashmularishta since she said it helped her with recovery after childbirth. But here's the thing. I'm unsure if I'm taking it right. The bottle says something about mixing it with water, but it doesn't specify how much, and do I take it before meals or after? Like, am I supposed to sip it or gulp it down? I started with 15 ml like my friend said, but now I worry that could be too little or even too much? Also, I've read up a bit, but I feel like I get more confused because different sources say different things about how to take dashmularishta. Should I be doing anything else, like special diets or exercises? Also, I've been experiencing some weird stomach bloating, and I’m not sure if that's normal when I took dashmularishta or just me eating too much junk food lately. How do I know if I should continue with it or stop? Any advice on how to take dashmularishta would be really appreciated! Thank you!

When taking dashmularishta, it’s crucial to get the dosage and timing right to maximize benefits and minimize side effects. Typically, the standard dosage for adults is about 15-30 ml, mixed with an equal amount of water. It’s best taken twice a day, either before or after meals. But since you’ve reported feeling fatigue post-flu, taking dashmularishta after meals may be more accommodating as it can help avoid potential aggravation of bloating and aid digestion.

Dashmularishta can be gulped down in smaller quantities, so no need to sip on it slowly. About stomach bloating, it might be due to the junk food intake as well as the herb effect, since some individuals can experience gastric discomfort as the body adjusts. To ascertain if dashmularishta is the cause, try minimizing junk food temporarily and ensure you are hydrated. If bloating persists, or is uncomfortable, you might need to lower the dose to 10 ml, and steadily increase as your system adapts.

In incorporating lifestyle changes, focus on easily digestible foods, like warm soups and stews, which enhance agni, your digestive fire. Including gentle yoga or a walk might also help in restoring energy levels and reducing bloating. Stick to foods that don’t aggravate kapha dosha — so avoid heavy, oily, and overly processed items.

Should the bloating worsen or if new discomforts arise, it’s good to pause the supplement and see a practitioner for personalized guidance. Self-care with Ayurveda, while holistic, sometimes needs fine tuning to align with one’s personal health blueprint. If in doubt, consulting with a local Ayurvedic doctor will provide a more tailored insight, respecting both your constitution (prakriti) and current condition.

To take dashmularishta effectively, starting with 15 ml is generally appropriate. Typically, you would mix this amount with an equal quantity of lukewarm water. You can take it about 2-3 times daily, ideally after meals. This timing supports digestion, which is crucial in aiding the absorption of the rejuvenating properties of dashmularishta. When it comes to sipping or gulping, sipping slowly is often recommended. This way, it allows your body to assimilate the rasa (essence) of the formulation more efficiently.

Considering your symptoms of fatigue post-flu, dashmularishta can certainly be supportive in revitalizing your energy levels. It’s known for balancing vata dosha and strengthening the sapta dhatus (the seven tissues of the body), both of which are critical for recovery and maintaining vitality.

Regarding the stomach bloating, it could be related to the dashmularishta if your agni (digestive fire) is already weak or if your diet includes incompatible foods. To support digestion, you might consider a simple diet of easily digestible foods like khichdi and warm soups. Integrating mild exercise such as yoga or walking can also help improve digestion and energy levels.

If bloating continues or worsens, it might be a sign of imbalance that requires addressing. Reducing junk food intake and perhaps exploring triphala as a supplement might support digestive health. However, if discomfort persists or is severe, discontinue use of dashmularishta and consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare provider to ensure you’re on the right track for your recovery. Remember, personalized guidance based on your specific prakriti (body constitution) and current health status is invaluable.
