Doctors' responses

Fistula, indeed, can be quite troublesome without surgical intervention, but Ayurvedic approaches might offer some relief and management. First, let’s address the pain. Warm sitz baths can be beneficial, soaking the affected area for 10-15 minutes a few times daily. Incorporating herbal infusions such as Turmeric and Neem can help. Boil a teaspoon of these in water, let cool, and rinse the area. This can offer some relief due to their natural anty-inflammatory properties.

For the hard stools, diet plays a crucial role. It’s important to alter your dietary habits to improve bowel movement and reduce strain. Focus on consuming foods rich in fiber such as whole grains, fresh vegetables like leafy greens, and fruits like papaya, pears, and figs which naturally soften stools. Include plenty of warm fluids, particularly Trifala tea - steep a teaspoon in hot water before bed, this provides a mild laxative effect and balances Vata, which often leads to dry stools.

Consider a stress on your lifestyle choices. Incorporate regular gentle exercises like yoga or walking to stimulate digestion and support smoother bowel movements. Abhayanga, or daily self-oil massage using sesame oil, followed by a warm shower, supports lymphatic flow and aids in relieving pain.

Despite these measures, prioritize consulting with health professional since fistulas can develop complications. Ensure to not delay getting medical advice if symptoms escalate. Pay attention to your body’s response to ensure safety and address any changes promptly, working synergistically alongside Ayurvedic approaches.
