Experiencing symptoms like numbness on the right side could point to an underlying issue with pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. When pitta is imbalanced, it may lead to issues like excess heat, skin sensitivity and even dryness. Start by reducing the heat-inducing factors in your routine. First, focusing on a cooling diet is crucial. Incorporate more naturally cooling foods like cucumber, coriander, coconut, and melons. Avoid spicy, fried, or overly salty foods as these could exacerbate pitta imbalances.

For the numbness, practicing yoga twists and gentle stretches can help improve circulation, facilitating better energy flow in your extremities.

For dry and sensitive skin, using natural moisturizers can offer relief. Look for coconut oil or sesame oil, as they are cooling and nourishing. After a lukewarm bath, gently massage the oil all over your body, this seals the moisture in and provides a protective barrier.

For a body lotion, opt for formulations with aloe vera or sandalwood, known for their soothing and cooling properties. These ingredients help decrease irritation and provide hydration to sensitive skin.

Adding a regular self-abhyanga or ayurvedic oil massage could be beneficial. Using a pitta-balancing massage oil, warmed gently and applied in long strokes towards the heart, can improve circulation and soothe the nervous system. Perform this 2-3 times a week for best results.

Make sure to stay hydrated, aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water a day, herbal teas like mint or fennel may also cool down excess heat in the body.
