Managing enlarged prostate and urinary cystitis requires a comprehensive approach in Ayurveda. It’s crucial to balance Vata and Pitta doshas, as these are often aggravated in such conditions. Here’s what you can do:
Start with dietary changes. Favor warm, easy to digest foods and avoid excess spice, caffeine or alcohol. Increase your intake of barley, wheat, and green leafy vegetables. Pumpkin seeds are particularly beneficial for prostate health; try having a handful every day. Fenugreek seeds soaked in warm water overnight and consumed with a little honey might also be useful.
Staying hydrated is important - sip on water throughout the day, Spicy foods irritate bladder lining, sip on coconut water to alleviate burning sensation.
In terms of herbal supplements, Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is known to support urinary tract health. Take it under the guidance of a qualified practitioner. Ashwagandha can help with your feelings of weakness and fatigue, as it’s known for boosting energy and immunity.
Regular physical activity is important, gentle yoga postures like Vajrasana and seated forward bends can help. Strengthening pelvic floor muscles through exercises such as Kegels is beneficial too.
Maintaining a regular sleep schedule is essential for balance; consider a warm sesame oil massage before bed to help improve sleep and soothe Vata dosha.
If your symptoms worsen, become painful, or if you experience fever, immediate professional medical attention is recommended. Ayurveda works best when integrated carefully with your current medical treatments, iti is essential to consult with an ayurvedic practitioner who understand your complete health profile.
