Persistent thick white phlegm for more than 6 months usually indicates an aggravated Kapha dosha with mucus accumulation in the chest and respiratory channels. Since ginger, tulsi, and licorice have not given enough relief, your body may now need a more targeted Ayurvedic approach rather than continuing the same remedy daily for months. Ayurvedic Recommendations 1. Reduce Kapha-forming foods Avoid: Cold drinks and iced water Excess dairy, cheese, yogurt at night Fried, oily, heavy foods Bananas and excessive sweets Prefer: Warm water through the day Light freshly cooked meals Soups with black pepper and cumin Warm herbal teas 2. Helpful Ayurvedic Herbs these are commonly used for chronic phlegm: Sitopaladi Churna with honey Talisadi Churna Trikatu Churna (helps break thick mucus) Vasavaleha for chest congestion Kanchanar Guggulu in chronic Kapha conditions Since licorice (Yashtimadhu) is naturally soothing and slightly heavy, prolonged use in some people can sometimes increase mucus tendency, so it may not suit everyone long-term. 3. Simple Home Remedies Take warm water with a pinch of dry ginger and black pepper after meals Steam inhalation with tulsi or ajwain once daily Gargle with warm salt water at night Avoid sleeping immediately after dinner 4. Lifestyle Support Daily brisk walking or mild sweating exercise helps liquefy Kapha Practice deep breathing and pranayama like Anulom Vilom Keep chest and throat protected from cold air

The thick, white phlegm you’ve had for 6 months means there is deep, old mucus settled in your lungs. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Why the current remedies aren’t working: Taking herbs like ginger and tulsi in coffee is actually making it worse. Coffee is drying, which bakes the mucus and makes it sticky and harder to cough out. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 So We need to stop the coffee with herbs, use stronger Ayurvedic medicines to melt and scrape away this old mucus, and avoid cold or heavy foods that create more phlegm. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 1) (Sitopaladi + talisadi + shringyadi) - churna mix - take three gram of this churn mix with honey twice a day after meal 2) Shwas kuthar ras- 1 tab twice a day after meal With warm water Crush the tablet before use 3) kankasava- 15 ml twice a day 20 minute after meals with equal amount of warm water 4) kantakari avaleha- 1 tsp once a day 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Stop mixing Ayurvedic powders with morning coffee 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Favor : Warm, light, and easily digestible foods. Include spices like turmeric, black pepper, long pepper (Pippali), and cumin in daily cooking. Use lukewarm water for drinking throughout the day. Avoid : Heavy, sticky, and cold items (Abhishyandi foods). Strictly avoid curd (especially at night), bananas, sweets, deep-fried foods, and chilled beverages. Reduce intake of heavy dairy. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Daily steam inhalation with a drop of Eucalyptus oil or a few carom seeds (Ajwain) to help loosen the chest congestion. 👇👇👇👇 Applying a warm compress or heating pad to the chest and upper back before sleeping can help liquefy the stagnant Kapha. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Gentle practice of Kapalbhati (if comfortable) and Anulom Vilom in the morning to strengthen lung capacity and clear the channels.

Thick phlegm can be due to infection, allergy ,bronchitis etc.if youl are smoker then avoid it Sitopaladi Churna — 3 grams (about ½ teaspoon) with 1 teaspoon honey, 2–3 times daily after meals. Talisadi Churna — 2–3 grams twice daily with honey Yashtimadhu — avoid high doses if you have high BP, kidney disease, or swelling. Vasavaleha — 1 teaspoon twice daily after meals for productive cough with sticky sputum. Steam inhalation with plain water or ajwain once or twice daily for 5–10 minutes. Drink warm water frequently; avoid cold drinks, curd at night, fried foods, smoking, and excessive sugar. You will definitely get results

Persistent thick white phlegm usually indicates excess Kapha accumulation and airway congestion. Since home remedies alone are not helping, stronger expectorant support may be needed. Avoid cold foods, curd at night, cold drinks, and excess dairy. Drink warm water through the day and do steam inhalation once daily. Sitopaladi churna – 1 teaspoon with honey twice daily Talisadi churna – 1 teaspoon twice daily after food Vasavaleha – 1 teaspoon twice daily This should help loosen and reduce phlegm gradually. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

Hello, Your symptoms suggest chronic kapha accumulation in the chest/lungs with possible -mucus stagnation -weak kapha metabolism -mild chronic bronchial inflammation -sometimes silent allergy/reflux contribution The important clue is -despite taking ginger + tulsi + licorice for months, there is little relief This means -either the mucus is deeply lodged (old kapha) -or there is an underlying issue not being addressed properly First important advice Since phlegm has persisted for more than 6 months, Please consider -chest examination -chest X-ray if not done -evaluation for= chronic sinus drainage, asthma, reflux, chronic bronchitis, allergy, smoking/environmental exposure Especially if -age > 40 years -history of smoking -breathlessness -unexplained weight loss Ayurvedic view This looks like -kapha accumulation in pranavaha srotas -ama kapha sticking in chest channels -possible weak lung agni White thick phelgm usually indicates -cold/heavy kapha dominance rather than infection Important observation Licorrice can sometimes -increase kapha/mucus in some people -retain fluid if used long term So prolonged daily use may not suit your current condition I would suggest stopping it temporarily for a few weeks Treatment goals -liquify thick kapha -improve chest clearance -reduce mucus production -improve lung channel circulation -prevent recurrece Internal medication 1) Sitopaladi churna= 1/2 tsp + honey twice daily after meals = chronic phelgm ,throat/chest congestion, mild airway inflammation 2) Talisadi churna= 1/2 tsp twice daily with honey after meals =stronger kapha clearing effect then licorice alone 3) Vasavaleha= 1 tsp twice daily after meals =useful for thick chest mucus, chronic productive cough, airway cleansing 4) Trikatu churna= small pinch after meals with honey =improves kapha metabolism, reduces mucus formation Simple remedies Morning -warm water + pinch turmeric + black pepper Steam inhalation plain steam once daily at night add- tulsi leaves, ajwain if comfortable Diet is very important -warm soups -light dinner -ginger in moderation -black pepper -garlic AVOID -cold drinks -ice cream -curd yogurt at night -cheese -excess banana -fried foods -excessive sugar These increase kapha mucus Helpful -anulom vilom -bhramari -gentle chest expansion breathing Expected improvement 2-4 weeks -reduced mucus thickening -easier expectoratiion -lighter chest feeling 6-8 weeks -less mucus production -improved breathing comfort Your current regimen is mainly soothing but your condition now need -stronger kapha clearing -channel openin -mucus reducing approach rather than continued long term demulcent/licorice- heavy support alone Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you Lifestyle advice -avoid sleeping immediately after meals -brisk walking daily -breathing exercise
