HELLO,

Receding gums is a condition where the gum tissue pulls back from the tooth, exposing more of the tooth or its root. this can leads to sensitivity, discomfort, and increased risk of tooth decay or even tooth loss if not managed properly. NOTE= complete reversal may not be possible without dental help is the condition is severe

AYURVEDIC APPROACH

1) LICOROCE ROOT(MULETHI) STICK CHEWING -gently chew on a small piece of dried licorice root like a brush for a few minutes, twice daily =mulethi has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It stimulates saliva and gently cleans teeth without harming gums.

2) CLOVE OIL APPLICATION -mix 1 drop of clove oil with 2-3 drops of sesame oil.dab gently on affected gums using cotton bud =clove reduces gum pain, infection, and sensitivity.

3) AMLA FOR REGENRATION -take 1 tsp amla powder mixed with honey or water daily on an empty stomach =amla is rice in vitamin c, strengthens connective tissues, and may help slow down further gum damage

4) BABOOL BARK POWDER -rub baboon bark powder mixed with warm sesame oil on your gums daily =babool is a well known gum astringent used in many traditional powders. It tightens gum tissue

5) TURMERIC PASTE WITH ALUM -1/2 tsp turmeric + a pinch of alum powder + 3 drops of mustard oil -make a paste and gently apply to your gums for 2-3 minutes, then rinse. =turmeric is healing, alum is mild astringent that can tone gums

6) READY MADE FORMULATION -kayakalp vati= 2 tabs twice daily afte meals = a detoxifying tab that supports gum health -Ayurdent toothpaste -khadiradi vati- chew 2 tabs twice daily for oral health

Use neem twig or wrap cotton cloth around finger to clean your teeth clean twice daily even gently

THANK YOU

DR. HEMANSHU MEHTA

HELLO ARWIND,

Receding gums with visible tooth roots(known medically as gingival recession) is a common issue and can worsen if not addressed properly, while modern dentistry often recommends scaling, grafting, or other interventions, ayurveda provides holistic and supportive therapies that may help slow down or potentially reverse early stage gum recession, especially when dental procedures are not desired.

Complete reversal of gum recession is difficult without dental procedures if tissue loss is significant. However , you can strengthen your gums, redcue sensitivity , prevent further damage, and support minor regeneration through this protocol

In Ayurveda, gun problems are usually associated with -shotha(inflammation) -raktapitta or pitta imbalance - weak asthi dhatu(bone tissue) -ama(toxins) -poor oral hygiene or improper habits

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT PLAN

1) OIL PULLING- DAILY oil pulling strengthen gums, draws out toxins and may help halt further gum recession. use organic cold pressed sesame oil or coconut oil add pinch of rock salt or triphala churna -take 1 tbsp oil in mouth -swish gently for 10-15 mins- do not swallow -spit and rinse with warm wtaer -do daily in the morning before brushing

2) HERBAL GUM MASSAGE-DAILY use herbal powders or pastes to gently massage the gums and promotes circulation -triphala churna or dashing samsakar churna -mix with warm sesame oil or honey -apply with a clean finger, gently massaging gums for 2-3 mintues -rinse with warm water

3) BRUSHING ADVICE avoid harsh brushing. since you’re currently not brushing, you should resume cleaning your teeth gently to avoid plaque buildup -a soft neem stick if preferred -or soft bristle brush with herbal toothpaste like -ayush anti-plaque, dabur red, or vicco vajradanti -brush once daily gently preferably after oil pulling

4) INTERNALY TAKE -KAISHOR GUGGULU- 2 tabs twice daily after meals = anti inflammatory, blood purifier, good for chronic gum issyes

-SHITOPALADI CHURNA+ PRAVAL BHASMA= 1/2 tsp each mixed with honey in morning =supports calcium and bone tissue

-GUM TONE GEL(charak)= apply topically on gums =herbal gel with astringent herbs for daily care

AT NIGHT -use Arimedadi taila= take 10 ml and hold//swiss for 5 mins. then spit.

DIET -avoid very spicy, sour, or processed foods -take calcium rich and pitta pacifying foods like milk(if tolerated), sesame seeds, leafy greens -ghee , turmeric, raisins -avoid smoking or alcohol completely

Reduce stress avoid excessive talking and clenching teeth ensure proper sleep and hydration

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

DR. MAITRI ACHARYA

Receding gums with visible roots is a significant concern, often linked to weak gingival tissues and perhaps even dosha imbalances, mainly caused by Vata aggravation. In Ayurveda, oral care goes beyond just brushing, involving holistic practices to strengthen teeth and gums, balancing doshas, and nourishing the tissues (dhatus).

Firstly, consider using a herbal tooth powder instead of toothpaste. Triphala powder is known to have astringent properties, nourishing your gum tissues. You could mix it with a pinch of rock salt—not too much because salt might aggravate sensitivity—and gently massage your gums once or twice daily.

Oil pulling, an ancient Ayurvedic practice, can help cleanse and strengthen gums. Take a tablespoon of sesame oil in the morning before eating and swish it in your mouth for 10-15 minutes. You might find coconut oil a better option if you have Pitta dominance since it’s cooling.

Dietrary changes can also make a difference. Eat a diet rich in calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin C—green leafy vegetables, almonds, and citrus fruits help keep your mouth healthy from the inside out. Avoid eating sour, dry, and cold foods which might exacerbate Vata issues.

Moreover, staying hydrated is vital. Warm water with a bit of lemon and honey can be consumed in the morning to flush out toxins and hydrate your tissues.

Stress management is often overlooked, but practices like meditation and yoga can aid in harmonizing the doshas and ensuring overall oral health.

While these steps can support gum health, severe cases could potentially necessitate a professional consultation. If symptoms deteriorate or cause significant discomfort, please reconsider reaching out for a dentist’s perspective even if it’s for a second opinion, to rule out progressive conditions.
