psoriatic eczema especially when itching becomes constant and disturbing both physically and mentally for so many years In Ayurveda we do not see this condition as only a skin problem we understand it as a deeper imbalance involving mainly vata and kapha dosha along with vitiation of rakta dhatu and accumulation of ama in the body this is why it keeps coming back again and again and does not settle with only external applications The dryness scaling thickened skin and intense itching clearly show vata kapha dominance and when itching becomes severe and persistent it also indicates involvement of rakta dushti so the treatment should go from inside and outside together not just creams or oils First step is correcting digestion because without agni correction no medicine will work properly avoid eating heavy incompatible foods irregular eating late night meals and overeating start taking light easily digestible warm food include old rice green gram moong dal lauki bottle gourd ridge gourd ash gourd and simple home cooked food use small quantities of ghee in diet as it helps in vata pacification and improves skin texture Strictly avoid curd especially at night avoid fish with milk avoid excessive spicy oily fried items avoid bakery items maida junk food cold drinks fermented foods excess tea coffee and sugar because all these increase ama and worsen skin inflammation Start your day with warm water you can add a pinch of turmeric and a few drops of lemon if suits your body this helps in mild detoxification Internally medicines like gandhak rasayan are very useful for chronic skin conditions it helps in reducing itching and purifying blood khadirarishta or mahamanjishtadi kwath can be given for rakta shodhana neem based formulations also help but selection depends on your prakriti and digestion Arogyavardhini vati is useful when there is liver involvement because skin diseases are closely connected to liver function in Ayurveda For deeper root level cleansing panchakarma is highly recommended especially virechana which is therapeutic purgation it directly cleans pitta and rakta dushti and gives long term relief in conditions like psoriasis and eczema if done properly under supervision Raktamokshana in selected cases can also give good results by reducing local inflammation and itching Externally you can apply medicated oils like nimba taila or karanj taila or mahamarichyadi taila depending on dryness and scaling if skin is very dry then use ghee based preparations if thick plaques are there then stronger lekhana oils are used Before applying oil gentle cleaning with lukewarm water is enough avoid harsh soaps instead use herbal powders like green gram powder or neem based cleansers Do not scratch even if itching is intense because it worsens the cycle instead you can apply oil slightly warm or use cold infusion of neem leaves to soothe the skin Stress also plays a major role in flare ups so maintaining calm mind proper sleep and simple breathing practices like pranayama will support healing

Hello, I would like you to understand that psoriasis has a strong genetic expression. You were always carrying the gene, it was just in a state of dormancy, or a genetic latency. Even with ayurvedic treatment we can only control the expression and take it back to a clinical remission stage and when a suitable environment arise the diseases will reappear. In ayurveda this considered as a yapya condition that is until you follow the medicine protocol and dietary and lifestyle advises you will be fine. Once the genetic component that layed dormant got activated even after clinical remission it remains more susceptible to any variations in environment. That being said ayurveda has method to control it and with proper following of pathya you can prevent the recurrence to a large aspect. All skin diseases has an ama base according to Ayurveda, especially one having a genetic despositions. You might be having constipation or sticky stools or reduced appetite, lack of energy all these are symptoms of severe ama dosha. Even if you are not having these symptoms it doesn’t mean there is no ama involvement,it just means the vata and pitta dosha has become more potent and taken over. The 1st line of treatment for 1 week should definitely address this the scaling might increase but it is necessary to tackle each dosha involved step by step for the complete remission of your condition. Take patola katurohinyadi kashayam 15 ml twice daily before food mixed with 60 ml luke warm water, kaisora guggulu 2 tablet twice daily before food, chandraprabha vati 1 tab twice daily after food, khadirarishta 30 ml twice daily after food for the 1st week. Use boiled water with triphala choorna to wash the affected site multiple times a day. You can also add nimbadi choornam 1 tspoon in 2glasspure butter milk and take it through out day. Only start any topical applications after the scaling has started. Applying winsoria oil will be good. During this period of medications you will notice your bowel movements are a little loose compared to regular but it is expected, we are purposefully performing a procedure called nitya virechana. It is virechana therapy for regular use. After the scaling starts and ensuring no fluid is present in the lesions start taking mahatiktaka ghrta 20 gm every morning on empty stomach with warm water. Keep continuing all other internal medications and use winsoria oil for external application. After this stage you will have considerable relief and need to provide weekly updates to assess how long you need to continue meditation. In fact I would like if you can keep me updated from the 1st week itself. If you are hypertensive skip the nimbadi choornam and buttermilk step. Following diet is important. Even white rice intake should be controlled. Banana, coconut, tomato, brinjal, bindi, root vegetables, horsegram, curd, biscuit bread pizza pasta achar papad heavily salted foods processed food fried food and nonveg has to be avoided. It is appreciated if you can go for a sunbath in early morning sun after applying the oil and then go for a medicated bath with neem leaves or triphala choorna.

This is a long-standing skin condition with itching, inflammation, and dietary sensitivity, which indicates pitta + kapha involvement along with some toxin (ama) accumulation. Complete removal takes time, but it can be well controlled with consistent approach. First focus on strict diet, otherwise medicines will give limited benefit. Avoid completely: Dairy (since it worsens you), curd, paneer, fried food, spicy food, sour items, bakery, packaged food, non-veg (especially fish + milk combinations), and cold drinks. Prefer: Simple warm food, moong dal, rice, roti, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin, neem leaves (if possible in small quantity), turmeric in diet. Drink warm water. Keep bowel clear daily and avoid constipation. At home: Apply coconut oil regularly to reduce dryness and itching. Neem water wash (boil neem leaves, cool, wash area) can help. Avoid hot water bath and harsh soaps. * Mahamanjishtadi kwath – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food * Gandhak rasayan – 1 tablet twice daily after food * Arogyavardhini vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food * Avipattikar tablet – 1 tablet before dinner This works on blood purification, reducing inflammation, and improving digestion. Follow consistently for few months. Improvement will be gradual (itching reduces first, then patches). Stress control is important — even simple walking or breathing practices daily will help reduce flare-ups. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

Psoriatic eczema / chronic eczema on both legs for 8 years with severe itching is considered in Ayurveda as a mix of Vicharchika / Eka Kushtha (chronic skin disorder) with vitiation of Kapha, Pitta and Rakta. Chronic “psoriatic eczema” (long-standing red, itchy, inflamed skin) in Ayurveda is usually correlated with Vicharchika / Kitibha Kushta, involving Pitta + Kapha imbalance with Rakta (blood) dushti and weak digestion (Agni). Since your condition is 8 years old, treatment should be systematic (internal + external + diet + lifestyle) for lasting control—not just creams. 1. Internal Medicines Arogyavardhini Vati – improves liver & metabolism, reduces skin toxins Mahamanjisthadi Kwath – blood purifier, reduces inflammation & itching Gandhak Rasayan – excellent for chronic itching and skin healing Panchatikta Ghrita Guggulu – useful in psoriatic conditions (deep detox + healing) Khadirarishta – supports skin purification These help correct root causes: Rakta shuddhi + Agni deepan + toxin removal 2. External Treatment Apply Neem oil / Karanj oil on affected area daily Aloe vera gel (fresh) for soothing and healing Use herbal soap (neem-based) instead of chemical soaps Avoid excessive scratching (worsens lesions) 3. Panchakarma (if possible – highly effective in chronic cases) Virechana (therapeutic purgation) – best for Pitta & skin diseases Raktamokshana (bloodletting) – in resistant cases Takradhara / lepa therapy for itching

The history you give above about Intense Itching (Kandu), redness (inflammation), and significant stress and fatigue. And you are looking for “removal from the root,” our focus must be toward deeper blood purification (Rakta Prasadana) and addressing the psychological component (the Manovaha Srotas) 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 This condition is pointing towards Vicharchika. The intense itching indicates a dominance of Kapha, while the redness and inflammation point to Pitta in the Rakta (blood)dhatu. Your stress levels are likely acting as a “Tridosha” aggravator, preventing the skin from healing 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 1) Mahatiktakam Kwath-15 ml + 45 ml warm water 30 mins before breakfast & dinner 2) Gulguluthikthakam Kwath-1 tablet or 15 ml Twice daily 3) Kalyanaka Ghritam-1 tsp with warm water On an empty stomach (morning) 4) Avipathi Choornam- 1 tsp with warm water At bedtime 5) Eladi Keratailam- Apply on legs 1 hour before bath 6) Jatyadi Tailam- Apply on inflamed areas After bath and at bedtime 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 What to Eat Barley (Yava), old Shali rice, and Millets Bitter gourd, pointed gourd (Parwal), bottle gourd, and Neem leaves. Turmeric, Fennel, and Coriander What NOT to Eat Dairy: Milk, curd, paneer, and butter (triggers her flare-ups). Pickles, vinegar, tamarind, and fermented batters (Dosa/Idli). Heat-Inducing: Excessive green/ red chilies, mustard oil, and deep-fried snacks. Fish with milk, or honey with hot water. 👇👇👇👇👇👇 To address the “root” a 3-step approach is needed: 1) Needs a mild, daily purgation (Mridu Virechana) using Avipathi Choornam to ensure Pitta (heat) doesn’t build up in the blood. 2) Manas - Stress is a known trigger for Psoriatic Eczema. Practicing Yoga Nidra or simple breathing exercises (Pranayama) for 10 minutes daily to manage her stress levels. 3) Complete cessation of dairy for at least 40 days to break the inflammatory cycle. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Cooling Baths: Use lukewarm water mixed with Neem leaves for bathing. Avoid Scratching Ensure 7-8 hours of sound sleep.

Managing a chronic condition like psoriatic eczema (often correlated with Vicharchika or Kitibha Kushtha in Ayurveda) that has persisted for 8 years requires a deep “shodhana” (detoxification) approach rather than just topical relief. Since the condition worsens with dairy and is accompanied by fatigue and bloating, there is likely a significant buildup of Ama (metabolic toxins) and a deep-seated imbalance in Pitta and Kapha doshas affecting the Rakta (blood) and Mamsa (muscle) tissues. Internal treatment :- blood purifiers • kaishore guggulu - 2 tab twice after meals •mahamanjisthadi kwath - 15-20 mL with equal warm water twice empty stomach Itching and inflammation control :- •gandhak rasayan :- 1 tab (250mg) twice Digestive support:- •triphla powder - 1 tsp with warm water at bedtime External application :- • Mahamarichyadi Taila: Apply gently to the affected areas on both legs. It penetrates deep into the skin layers to reduce scaling and itching. • 777 Oil (Wrightia tinctoria): Very effective for psoriatic-type lesions. Apply after a bath and leave it on. Inculde in diet :- ✅ Bitter Vegetables: Neem flowers, bitter gourd (Karela), pointed gourd (Parwal). Grains: Old rice, barley (Jawa), and Mung dal. Spices: Turmeric, cumin, and coriander. Fats: Small amounts of Ghee (medicated ghee like Mahatiktaka Ghrita is ideal). Avoid :- ❌ Dairy Products: Milk, curd (yogurt), paneer, and cheese (major triggers). Viruddha Ahara: Incompatible combinations like milk with fruit or fish. Fermented/Salty Foods: Pickles, vinegar, papad, and excessive salt. Nightshades: Tomatoes, eggplant, and white potatoes.

Hello, Dealing with a chronic skin condition for eight years is incredibly taxing, both physically and mentally. In Ayurveda, your symptoms align with Kushtha Roga, likely a dominance of Vata (itching/dryness) and Pitta (inflammation/redness). Because this is deep-seated, the goal is to “cool” the blood (Rakta) and detoxify the liver. Prescription : Maha Thikthakam Kashayam: This is the gold standard for inflammatory skin conditions. It purifies the blood and reduces the “heat” causing the itch. Dose: 15ml mixed with 60ml boiled and cooled water, twice daily on an empty stomach (30 mins before food). Manjishtadi Kwath: Highly effective for chronic conditions where the skin has thickened or discolored over years. Dose: 15ml with 60ml water, twice daily (can be taken alongside the Kashayam). Psorakot Tablet: A specialized formulation containing Wrightia tinctoria, specifically for scaling and itching. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily after food. Psorakot Gel & Eladi Kerathailam: For external application. Mix a few drops of Eladi oil with the gel to keep the area hydrated. Apply gently over the legs 2–3 times a day. Do not scrub the skin. In Ayurveda, the gut is the mirror of the skin. If your digestion is “acidic,” your skin will itch. What to Eat (The “Cooling” List) Bitter gourd (Karela), bottle gourd (Lauki), ridge gourd, and leafy greens. Bitter tastes are natural blood purifiers. Old rice, barley, and mung dal. Ghee (in moderation) is excellent for lubricating the skin from within. Sweet pomegranates, melons, and sweet grapes. Never mix milk with fish, fruit, or salt. This is a primary cause of skin disease in Ayurveda. Limit pickles, curd (yogurt), citrus fruits, and excessive salt, as these aggravate Pitta. Avoid idli/dosa batter that is too sour, alcohol, and vinegar. Red meat and seafood should be strictly avoided until the itching subsides.
