Doctors’ responses

A cricket ball injury can be quite serious, especially if it affects the eye. Since your pupil has been dilated for six months now, it's crucial you see an ophthalmologist if you haven't already. Trauma to the eye can lead to issues like damage to the iris sphincter muscle, which regulates pupil size, or even cause acute vision problems. While I can share some general Ayurvedic insights, it's important to stress the need for specialist care first when it comes to something as sensitive as eye injury. If your doctor gives you the green light to explore supportive Ayurvedic practices, you might consider a few gentle approaches. One helpful practice is Netra Tarpana, which is a traditional Ayurvedic eye therapy. It involves bathing the eye in a pool of warm ghee (clarified butter) for a specific period—best done under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, though. It’s deeply soothing and can help improve eye health overall, but again, talk to your doctor before trying anything new on your own eyes. Diet also plays a role. Rich sources of Vitamin A like carrots, sweet potatoes, and dark leafy greens can be nurturing. Consuming these regularly supports eye health. An imbalance in Pitta dosha sometimes affects vision, so include cooling foods like cucumber and watermelon, which may help balance that. Daily eye exercises or yoga techniques like Trataka, a meditative gazing practice, can be beneficial for eye muscles, just proceed with caution considering your injury. Resting your eyes regularly can also help ease strain. Remember, this should complement—not replace—conventional treatments. Don't wait if you're experiencing pain, vision loss or other symptoms. If these arise, see a medical professional straight away. Also, I'm here to guide you towards wellness info but can't reach out directly on WhatsApp. Stay safe!
