Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour & Hair Care - #26891

Noah

I am in a bit of a situation here. Recently, I decided to try out this Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour & Hair Care stuff after hearing some good things from a friend. My hair has been looking kinda dull and I thought a little color could brighten things up, you know? But now I’m freaking out because I noticed some weird dryness and a little itchiness after using the colour. Like, did I do something wrong? I followed the instructions exactly but maybe I did it too fast? I really want to love this Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour, but I’m worried it might be too strong for me or maybe it’s just my hair that’s sensitive. My scalp has never really reacted like this before! I even get regular trims and use what I thought were decent products for my hair health. Should I stop using the Aswin Rang Ved Hair Care line altogether? I also feel like I should probably do a patch test next time right? I do wonder if maybe I should add some oils or something to help with the dryness? Also, anyone else had this issue with Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour? What did you all do? Thanks, just need some advice before I totally freak out on this!

Doctors' responses

Experiencing dryness and itchiness after using a new hair product like Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour & Hair Care might be due to sensitivity or an imbalance in your scalp’s natural oil production. It’s possible the colour might be a bit too strong for your current hair health, especially if your hair or scalp is naturally sensitive. Performing a patch test next time is definitely a good precaution to minimize unexpected reactions.

To address the dryness and itchiness, incorporating herbal oils can indeed help. Opt for coconut or almond oil as a post-wash treatment. Apply a small amount onto your scalp and hair, leave it on for a few hours or overnight if possible, then rinse it out with a mild shampoo. This will help soothe and nourish your scalp and hair, reducing dryness.

In Ayurveda, scalp issues like these often stem from imbalances in Pitta dosha, which can cause the scalp to become irritated and dry. Cooling herbs might be beneficial. You might consider using a hair mask made with ingredients such as Amla (Indian gooseberry) or Neem leaves, blended into a paste with water. Apply this paste onto your scalp and leave it for about 30 minutes before washing off.

Consider also your diet, as it plays a crucial role in hair health. Focus on cooling and hydrating foods like cucumber, yogurt, and buttermilk. Keep hydrated and consume adequate fats; include ghee and sesame oil in your meals (with moderation, of course).

If the irritation persists or worsens, stop using the product and consult a dermatologist or Ayurvedic practitioner to ensure there are no underlying issues. Remember, Ayurveda emphasizes a holistic approach, incorporating lifestyle, dietary changes, and external applications for balancing the body’s natural state.

Engage only with products that align with your hair and scalp’s natural constitution, especially if there is a pre-existing sensitive scalp.

It’s likely that your scalp’s dryness and itchiness are reactions to the ingredients in the Aswin Rang Ved Hair Colour. Such reactions can indeed happen when trying a new product. It’s important to first stop using the product immediately and allow your scalp some time to recover. The symptoms you describe suggest it might have disrupted your scalp’s natural balance or that your scalp is more sensitive to certain components.

A soothing and corrective step would be to incorporate some natural oils to restore moisture. Coconut oil contains lauric acid that acts hydrating and cooling, which can soothe irritation. You can warm a small amount of coconut oil and gently massage it onto your scalp. Leave it on for a couple of hours before washing it out with a mild, natural shampoo. Also, Brahmi oil, known for its nourishing properties, could potentially be beneficial in rejuvenating the scalp.

For future use of any hair coloring product, a patch test is advisable, especially if your skin tends to be sensitive. This test involves applying the product on a small area of your skin (like behind your ear or inner arm) to check for any adverse reactions after 24-48 hours.

If you wish to continue with Aswin Rang Ved, look for any modifications like diluting the product slightly or using pre and post coloring conditioners specifically designed for color-treated hair. These can provide additional protection and hydration.

If symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a healthcare provider is essential for a thorough investigation to ensure there’s no underlying dermatological condition.
