Ayurveda has profound insights into parasite cleansing and preventing infestations. Parasites generally thrive when Agni, or digestive fire, is weak. Ensuring a balanced diet and strong digestion can be quite effective in parsite prevention.

First, strengthening your Agni is crucial. One may need to include herbs such as ginger, black pepper, and pippali which can stimulate digestion. Try adding these to meals in small quantities, or brew them into a warm tea consumed post-meal.

For internal cleansing, consider a herbal decoction like Vidanga (Embelia ribes) which is traditionally used for its anthelmintic properties. Take 250-500 mg of Vidanga powder with warm water once a day for a month. Consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner first to ensure it’s suitable for you.

Dietary modifications are also necessary. Avoiding overly raw, uncooked or unhygienically prepared foods is wise—especially water-based fruits and vegetables that aren’t peeled. Limit sugar, which can nurture parasites and weaken your digestion. Favor cooked, easily digestible meals with adequate use of spices.

As for supplements, Trikatu, which is a combination of ginger, black pepper, and pippali, may boost digestive strength. Digestive enzymes or supplements with Bromelain can also help.

Lifestyle changes to prevent parasites focus on cleanliness. Regularly wash hands and maintain good hygiene, especially before eating or preparing food. Ensuring drinking water is purified and free from contaminants is vital.

Establish a daily routine that aligns with Ayurvedic principles—waking up early, exercising, and practicing yoga or pranayama can enhance overall immunity.

If you suspect an ongoing infection, consult a healthcare professional promptly for specific advice and treatment. Urgent intervention is necessary in certain cases and Ayurveda can be supplemental to modern treatments.
