Doctors’ responses

Thank you for sharing your concern—it’s completely understandable to feel worried about marks and scars, especially after something like chickenpox. The good news is that Ayurveda offers gentle, natural ways to help the skin heal, regenerate, and gradually reduce scars and pitting (holes). At your age, the skin has a great ability to renew itself with the right support. Triphala Churna (at night) – 1 teaspoon with warm water or honey at night Neem Capsules - One capsule twice daily Amla Juice – 5ML at morning Kumkumadi Tailam - ext appn Take 2–3 drops and massage gently on the affected area at night. Leave it overnight. Aloe Vera Gel + Sandalwood Past-Mix fresh aloe vera pulp with a pinch of pure sandalwood powder. Apply on marks, leave for 20 minutes, then rinse. Avoid: Fried foods, spicy items, sour curd, excess salt, and junk food. Include: Moong dal, ghee, amla, pomegranate, carrot, and cucumber. Drink plenty of water with a few drops of fresh lemon With consistent care, you may start noticing improvement in 3–4 weeks, but full fading of scars or pits can take 2–3 months depending on skin type and depth.

Chickenpox scars can be a cause of concern, but Ayurveda offers practical solutions to support the skin’s natural healing process. First, it's important to understand that the post-chickenpox marks or holes are primarily due to the Vata dosha being imbalanced, often leaving spots as healing progresses. While patience is vital as scars often fade over time, Ayurvedic remedies can expedite this process. Consider using Kumkumadi Tailam, a herbal Ayurvedic oil renowned for skin rejuvenation. Gently apply the oil on your marks twice daily, ideally in the morning and before sleep. It helps in improving skin texture and tone over time. However, be careful and first test it on a small patch of skin to ensure there is no allergic reaction. Secondly, embrace a diet rich in antioxidants. Including fruits like amla (Indian gooseberry) and vegetables can encourage skin regeneration. Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, can be a beneficial daily addition. You could mix a pinch of turmeric with a spoonful of cow's ghee and consume it once daily. Hydration is key, aim to drink plenty of water every day to support your skin's elasticity and repair. Rose water can also be your friend.. Try dabbing it lightly on the scars each night, as it can soothe and promote skin healing. Avoid direct sunlight on the affected areas as much as you can, use a natural sunscreen if exposure is unavoidable, as sun can darken the scars. Practicing meditation and breathing exercises can also help manage stress, keeping your body's natural healing processes balanced. Though the natural approach with Ayurvedic remedies does not yield immediate results, with consistent use, they can significantly improve your skin's appearance. Be paitient and observe the progress cautiously. If any irritation occurs, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare provider before continuing further home care.
