does shilajit cause hair loss - #24354

Abigail

I am worried about this whole shilajit thing. Like, I've been reading a lot about it since my friend recommended it for energy and overall health. But I started taking it a couple of weeks ago, and now I’m noticing my hair seems to be thinning a bit more than usual. Does shilajit cause hair loss? That’s what’s freaking me out! I thought it was supposed to be great for you. Honestly, it's weird because I also started a new shampoo, but my gut feeling is that it might be the shilajit. I mean, I haven't change anything else in my routine, and I can’t help but wonder. Every time I look in the mirror, I'm like, "Where did all this hair go?" Anyway, I also read a few random posts online saying that excessive use could lead to some negative side effects—I’m just so confused! Has anyone else experienced this? I know hair loss can be linked to a ton of things, but does shilajit cause hair loss, or am I just being paranoid? Would love some advise cos I’m starting to lose my mind here!

It's understandable to be worried when you notice changes like hair thinning, but it's essential to remember that hair loss can result from various factors. Let's address your concerns about shilajit. In Ayurvedic texts, Shilajit is often described as a rejuvenative and nutritious substance, beneficial for increasing energy, stamina, and even overall well-being. Generally, it doesn't directly cause hair loss; instead, it might even help strengthen hair by supporting overall health. Considering your situation, it's crucial to examine other environmental factors or recent changes, like your new shampoo. Sometimes, hair products can affect hair health, possibly causing more hair fall, especially if they contain harsh chemicals your scalp might not tolerate well. A change in diet, unexpected stress, or seasonal changes can also contribute to hair thinning, so it's worth reflecting on any such changes around the time you began noticing these symptoms. If you think shilajit might be the issue, consider another potential factors that could coincide with its effects and discontinue it for a short period to observe any changes. However, since it's known to bolster overall health, shilajit is not generally linked to adverse effects like hair loss. Instead, its benefits include providing nourishment and balance, which can indirectly support stronger and healthier hair growth. Before making any further changes, it might be beneficial to consult a practitioner skilled in Ayurveda or a health professional who can help you analyze your doshas and other health factors better. Customize your approach to find balance in your body and hair health. For now, try to incorporate a diet rich in vitamins and such as Amla (Indian gooseberry) or sesame seeds, and take a closer look at your current haircare routine. Keep in mind, if hair loss persists, it would be wise to seek professional medical advice promptly.
