what to add in mehndi for hair growth - #24826

Christopher

I am worried about my hair growth! Like, for the past few months, it feels like my hair has just stopped growing. I mean, I always used to have thick hair, but now it's thin and lifeless. Recently, I tried dying it, but I had to stop because my scalp got really itchy and I think it made things worse. A friend told me that mehndi might help – she swears by it for her hair! But I'm clueless. What to add in mehndi for hair growth? Is there something specific that can boost its effectiveness? I read somewhere that adding stuff like tea powder or maybe some oils can really make a difference, but not sure what works best. Do I just mix it all together? I wonder if I should also be doing something else at the same time? Like, is there a special routine I should follow? I don’t wanna keep messing up my hair and looking at these split ends any longer. Any advice from you guys would be super helpful!

To address hair growth concerns with mehndi (henna), you can enhance its benefits by incorporating a few specific ingredients known in Ayurveda for promoting hair health. First, when preparing your mehndi paste, consider adding bhringaraj powder. This herb is renowned in Ayurveda for supporting hair growth and improving hair strength. Add about 1-2 teaspoons to your henna mix. Infuse your mehndi paste with tea liquor instead of plain water. Boil 2-3 teabags in about a cup of water until it's strong, let it cool before adding to the mehndi. The tannins in tea can help add sheen to your hair. Another great addition is amla powder, around 1 tablespoon, which is known for rejuvenating hair and providing a vitamin C boost. To combat dryness and improve scalp nourishment, consider mixing a couple of teaspoons of natural oils such as coconut oil or olive oil into your prepared henna mix. These oils will help maintain scalp moisture and promote healthier hair growth. When you've got your paste ready, apply it generously over your scalp and hair. Leave it on for about 2-3 hours (or until it dries) before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Avoid using shampoo immediately after the application – just use plain water. Let your hair rest for a day before washing it with a mild Ayurvedic shampoo. Beyond the mehndi application, adopt a regular oiling routine. Massage your scalp with warm castor oil mixed with coconut oil (equal parts) twice a week. Ensure a healthy diet rich in proteins, iron, and vitamins to support your hair health from within. Lentils, green leafy vegetables, almonds, and yogurt are all good choices. Aim to avoid chemical-laden hair products and heat styling tools that can exacerbate hair problems. Maintain a stress-free lifestyle and practice yoga or meditation for overall wellness. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner if these concerns persist, to check for any underlying issues or specific dosha imbalances that may require personalized attention.
