how to apply kumkumadi tailam - #25172

Skylar

I am really struggling to figure out how to apply kumkumadi tailam properly. I’ve read that it’s supposed to work wonders for skin, but I tried it for the first time last night and honestly, I felt like I was doing something wrong. Like, do I just put it on my face and let it sit, or do I need to massage it in? My skin has been super dry and I have these weird dark spots that won’t go away, and I was hoping kumkumadi tailam would help, but I’m not sure if I'm doing it right. I used a few drops and rubbed it on, but it felt a bit greasy. Should I wash it off after a certain time? Or can I leave it on overnight? Also, I’ve seen people say to use it in a specific order with other products. Should I wash my face first with something special? I’m just super confused about how to apply kumkumadi tailam correctly without messing things up even more. Any tips would be great!

Applying Kumkumadi Tailam can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward. First, you'll want to make sure your face is clean before applying the oil. Use a gentle cleanser, something that's not too harsh, because your skin's already dry. Just pat your face dry with a towel after washing—don't rub too hard. Now, about the Kumkumadi Tailam. You only need a few drops, maybe three to four. This stuff is concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Warm it slightly by rubbing it between your palms before application; it tends to absorb better this way. Then, gently massage it in circular motions, this helps the oil penetrate deeper into the skin. Don’t rush—spend about two to three minutes just massaging your face. If it feels too greasy, remember you're probably using a little too much, so just try reducing the amount. It's perfectly fine to leave it on overnight; in fact, that's often recommended, as the longer it stays on, the better the results, especially for dark spots and dryness. In the morning, you should wash it off during your usual cleansing routine. Regarding using other products, you generally don't want to pile on too many things. After cleansing and applying Kumkumadi Tailam, you might skip other serums or oils to prevent irritation or clogged pores. You should also avoid using any exfoliating products right after applying it, since your skin might get sensitive. But do make sure to follow up with a gentle moisturizer if you feel like you need it. No need to stress—after a few applications, you'll probably find a routine that feels right for you. If your skin doesn’t adapt or you notice irritation, it might be best to consult someone experienced in Ayurveda or a dermatologist. Your unique skin needs might require slight adjustments.
