how to use camphor for hair growth - #36545

Sofia

I am really worried about my hair lately, it feels like it’s been thinning way more than usual, and I just don’t know what to do. I heard from a friend that camphor can help with hair growth?? I honestly have no clue how to use camphor for hair growth, and I don't want to mess anything up. I’ve seen these posts online where people mix it with oils but then there are all these contradicting things about how much to use and if you need to dilute it or what not. Last week, I even went to see a doctor, and they said my hair is just stress-related, but I think it’s beyond that. My scalp gets itchy and dry too, like sometimes I feel like I can just scratch it off—yikes, right? I want to get a good routine going, but I feel overwhelmed. Can someone tell me exactly how to use camphor for hair growth? Should I be applying it directly, or mix it with coconut oil or something? I tried using it once mixed with some almond oil, but not sure if I did it right because I didn’t notice any difference. I wonder if there's a specific way I should apply it or what kind of results I can expect? How long does it usually take to see changes? Any tips would be super appreciated before I go crazy trying random stuff!

Understanding how to use camphor for hair health can indeed feel overwhelming at first, but let’s make it more manageable. Camphor’s known for its antimicrobial and cooling properties that can soothe itchy and dry scalp conditions linked to stress or hair thinning. However, using it correctly is vital to avoid irritation.

Begin with camphor powder or crystals, preferably from a reputable souurce, as pure camphor is essential. Since direct application can be irritatting, diluting camphor is the way to go. Mixing it with a carrier oil like coconut oil or almond oil, as you’ve already attempted, is a beneficial approach. Coconut oil can nourish hair and promote strength, while almond oil provides Vitamin E, aiding hair health.

For a practical mixture, dissolve a small pinch of camphor powder (approx. 1/4 teaspoon) in 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Stir well to ensure camphor is thoroughly mixed. Once prepared, gently massage it onto your scalp with your fingertips in a circular motion to promote healthy blood circulation.

You can leave the mixture on your scalp for around 30 minutes before washing it off with a mild, herbal shampoo. To observe noticeable changes, it’s crucial to remain consistent with this routine, applying it 2-3 times per week. Results often depend on individual hair conditions but you might begin to notice improvements in scalp health and hair texture within a few weeks.

Since stress is a factor, incorporating stress-reducing practices like meditation or yoga might also provide holistic benefits. Remember, while camphor can support hair health, it’s important to monitor for any allergic reactions — discontinue use if irritation occurs. Seek further personalized Ayurvedic guidance if needed, especially if symptoms persist.
