after applying curd on hair how to wash - #37228
I am facing a bit of a struggle after trying this home remedy with curd for my hair. A few days ago, I read that applying curd can be really great for nourishment, so I decided to give it a go. I mixed some curd with a little bit of honey and thought I'd use it as a mask. It felt nice while applying, but now I'm a little confused about what to do next! After applying curd on hair, how to wash it out properly? I just can't seem to get the smell out, and it feels kinda sticky even after rinsing. I've tried using regular shampoo, but it didn’t feel like it did much. Do I need to let it sit longer, or maybe I shouldn't mix anything with the curd at all? I also heard that people use different methods while washing, like some say to use warm water, and others suggest cool water. Does that really make a differnce? P.S. My hair was already a bit frizzy before this and now I'm worried this might've made it worse. Should I follow up with a conditioner after washing the curd out? Just hoping to get some advice, thanks!

After applying curd on your hair, removing it can sometimes be a tricky thing, but there are ways to do it effectively. When you use curd mixed with honey, both can be a lil’ sticky and that’s where some of the difficulty comes from. Let’s break it down step by step on how to properly wash it out:
1. Start rinsing your hair with lukewarm water. This helps loosen up the curd and honey from your hair. Warm water can indeed make a difference by helping to dissolve the sticky components more easily.
2. Apply a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo. Since you’re dealing with frizziness, a sulfate-free option will clean without stripping your hair’s natural moisture. Massage it thoroughly into your scalp and hair strands to help lift the curd residue away. You might need to shampoo twice, given the stickiness you’ve experienced.
3. Rinse thoroughly. Make sure you rinse out all the shampoo and curd. Pay attention to the roots and scalp.
4. After shampooing, it’s definitely a good idea to use a conditioner, especially if frizzy hair is a concern. A natural conditioner with ingredients like coconut oil or aloe vera may offer additional shine and smoothness. Apply it mid-length down to the ends, avoiding the scalp.
5. Rinse the conditioner with cool water. Cool water can help seal the hair cuticles, making your hair smoother and lessening frizz.
6. To get rid of any lingering smell, you can rinse with water mixed with a few drops of essential oil or a little lemon juice. Essential oils like lavender or rose can leave a pleasant scent.
Avoid applying the curd mixed with honey again if it didn’t suit you. Simple curd or combining it with other ingredients like fenugreek may be better options next time. Taking care of hair the Ayurvedic way involves understanding what works best for your unique hair type and Dosha balance.
