how much time multani mitti take to work - #38692

Grace

I am a bit confused about using multani mitti for my skin. I've been facing these awful breakouts for ages, and a friend told me about this magical clay. I started using it like four days ago, mixing it with rose water or yogurt. Gotta say, I love how my skin feels after applying it, but the pimples are still there! I read somewhere that multani mitti can help, but honestly, I'm starting to wonder how much time multani mitti take to work? Like, should I be expecting results right away or does it take a couple of weeks? I've seen some people saying they noticed improvements in just a week, but here I am still struggling, feeling a bit lost. It’s hard not to feel impatient when you're dealing with this. Do I need to be consistent, like daily use or just a few times a week? I even noticed my skin looks a little red after applying it, which freaks me out a bit. Is that normal? If I'm using multani mitti and not seeing the results I expected, should I be looking into something else? What’s the deal here? Would appreciate any insights or tips, seriously!

The application of multani mitti, or fuller’s earth is a classic remedy in Ayurveda for various skin issues, particularly oily and acne-prone skin. It’s renowned for its cooling and absorbent properties, drawing out impurities and absorbing excess oil. However, the timeframe for noticeable improvements can vary significantly depending on several factors such as your skin type, the severity of your acne condition, and how consistently you’re using the treatment.

In general, significant results might take a couple of weeks of consistent use. Applying it two to three times a week should suffice— more frequent use might dry out the skin, potentially exacerbating redness or irritation. It is essential to listen to your skin’s response. If multani mitti is causing persistent redness or discomfort, it might be an indication that your skin is sensitive to its drying effects, and it may be wise to reduce the frequency of application or try a different blend.

Considering you’re blending it with rose water or yogurt, those are both soothing mixers that complement the clay, yet ensure that no other irritants are present in those products. The minor redness you’re experiencing isn’t uncommon as the mask increases circulation to the applied area. But if it seems excessive or painful, its prudent to discontinue use and perhaps consult a dermatologist.

In addition to topical treatments like multani mitti, Ayurvedically, acne is often a manifestation of Pitta dosha imbalance. Dietary adjustments, such as reducing excessive spicy, sour or oily foods, might help in maintaining skin health. Opt for foods that are cooling and soothing in nature like cucumber, melons, and leafy greens, and maintain a good hydration level— at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.

Remember, skin health is multifacted. While multni mitti may be beneficial, addressing lifestyle factors like stress, diet, and sleep are equally crucial. If acne doesn’t improve with topical care, consider seeking advice from an Ayurvedic practitioner who can tailor a more personalized regimen for you.

Multani mitti, also known as fuller’s earth, is a traditional and widely used remedy for skin issues like breakouts. Based on your description, patience and consistency are indeed key here. Generally, multani mitti can take a few weeks to show visible improvement in acne, primarily because it works by gradually cleansing and restoring balance to your skin. It’s normal for immediate improvements to be subtle, as it helps to reduce oiliness and tighten pores over time.

Applying multani mitti 2-3 times a week is usually sufficient. Overuse might dry out your skin or cause irritation, potentially leading to redness, as you’ve noticed. Try mixing it with rose water and applying it gently for about 15-20 minutes before rinsing it with lukewarm water. Redness could also indicate slight sensitivity, so adjust the frequency as your skin adapts.

As per Siddha-Ayurvedic principles, acne may relate to imbalances in pitta dosha, causing heat and inflammation. So, alongside multani mitti, consider moderating your intake of spicy, oily foods which can aggravate pitta. Including bitter and cooling foods like cucumber and aloe vera might help to.cool and soothe internally. Adequate hydration and a regular sleep schedule can also support overall skin health.

If there’s no significant progress after a couple of weeks, consult a specialist to explore other treatments. Acne could also be linked to deeper factors like hormonal imbalances or diet, requiring a more comprehensive approach. Adopt a skin care routine tailored to your unique prakriti (constitution) to nurture and heal your skin effectively.
