can we use figaro olive oil for hair - #39018

Caroline

I am really curious about hair care stuff lately. My hair has been falling out more than usual. I mean, it's like I'm shedding everywhere, and it's kinda freaking me out! I read somewhere that certain oils can help, and I've heard a lot about olive oil for hair. But then yesterday, I came across Figaro olive oil, and I'm wondering, can we use Figaro olive oil for hair? Like, I’ve been using regular olive oil, but maybe Figaro has some special benefits? My friend said she uses it for cooking, but I've seen people use it for skincare too. Is using Figaro olive oil for hair as effective as the regular one? I even did a little online digging and found some mixed reviews, like some people swore by it while others said it didn’t do much. I don’t know if I should just stick with what I’ve been using or give Figaro a shot. Also, if I try this, how often should I use it? And do I need to mix it with anything? Kinda hope this helps because my hair is in desperate need of some TLC!

Using Figaro olive oil for your hair is indeed a feasible option. Olive oil, whether it is Figaro or any other brand, generally shares the same fundamental properties that nourish and condition hair. It is rich in monounsaturated fats and antioxidants such as vitamin E, which can penetrate the hair shaft and maintain moisture, potentially reducing breakage and strengthening hair strands. However, Figaro olive oil, often used in culinary contexts, might be a refined version. This means it could have fewer nutrients compared to extra virgin olive oil.

In terms of application, you can use Figaro olive oil similarly to how you’ve been using regular olive oil. A weekly hair treatment can work wonders. Here’s what you can try: Warm a small amount of the oil gently, as warm oil penetrates better. Massage it into your scalp using your fingertips in a circular motion. This not only ensures even distribution but can also improve blood circulation, promoting hair growth. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes or you can keep it overnight for deeper conditioning. When washing it out, use a mild shampoo to avoid stripping your scalp of natural oils.

Mixing the oil with ingredients such as amla (Indian gooseberry), which is revered in Ayurveda for strengthening hair, or hibiscus powder can enhance its benefits. Both boost scalp health and add shine.

Make sure, you are also pivoting your dietary habits towards hair health. Increase intake of foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, like flaxseeds and walnuts, and keep well-hydrated. While oiling is important, keeping an eye on your stress levels, and considering yoga or meditation, could significantly reduce hair shedding. If hair fall persists despite these changes, please consult a healthcare professional, as it might be symptomatic of an underlying health issue.

You can indeed use Figaro olive oil for hair, as it fundamentally offers the same benefits as any high-quality olive oil. Both types are primarily composed of nourishing fatty acids and antioxidants that are helpful in minimizing hair fall and improving overall hair quality. In the perspective of Siddha-Ayurveda, olive oil is considered balancing for the Vata dosha, which, when imbalanced, can lead to dryness and increased hair shedding.

Using Figaro olive oil should be straightforward. You can warm a small amount gently – making sure it is not too hot – and apply it to your scalp and hair. Massage the oil into your scalp, moving from the roots to the tips, focusing on the areas where hair seems thinner. This massage can help improve blood circulation to the scalp, promoting healthier hair growth. Leave it on for around 30 minutes before rinsing out with a mild shampoo.

Consistency is key, so try using it two to three times a week. For enhanced effects, you could mix Figaro olive oil with a few drops of essential oils like rosemary or lavender, known for their hair-stimulating properties. Remember not to overdo it, as excessive application can sometimes lead to build-up, which might affect follicles negatively.

Keep in mind, however, that persistent hair fall can be symptomatic of deeper imbalances or health issues like thyroid irregularities or nutritional deficiencies. Such cases necessitate the guidance of a healthcare provider to address the underlying root causes. Incorporating a balanced diet rich in iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids along with this external care could yield better overall results.
