how to remove black colour from lips - #39081

Jayden

I am really worried about my lips lately. They used to be a pretty shade of pink, but over the past few months, they have turned this dark black color that just looks so unhealthy! I don’t even know what caused it—maybe it’s the lip products I've been using or something else? I tried switching to natural products and even stopped using lipstick for a while, but no luck. I’ve read a bit online about how to remove black colour from lips, but most of the tips seem too complicated or don’t really fit into my daily routine. Like, I've seen people mention sugar scrubs and aloe vera, and I’m down for trying natural ways, but I just don't have much time to make fancy potions and stuff. Also, I can't afford to spend lots on dermatologists right now, so I'm really hoping for some advice on how to remove black colour from lips without breaking the bank! I’ve also noticed some dryness, and I'm not sure if that’s a factor too. Is there some simple routine or home remedy that actually works? Like, how do I get back to having soft pink lips? I just wanna feel good about my smile again! Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Darkening of the lips can be due to several factors, in line with Ayurveda, such as imbalances in your pitta dosha, which can lead to hyperpigmentation when aggravated. Since you’ve noticed dryness, vata may also play a role. Let’s simplify an approachable Ayurvedic routine to help restore your lips to their natural color without taking much time or costing a lot.

Firstly, consider reducing your intake of hot, spicy, and oily foods, which can aggravate pitta, and replace them with cooling foods such as cucumber, watermelon, and aloe vera juice. Keeping your body hydrated promotes good health of the dhatus, tissues of your body, including your lips.

For external care, applying a simple mixture to your lips daily can help. Try the following effective remedy: Mix a few drops of honey, which is known for its moisturizing properties, with a tiny pinch of turmeric powder. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, which will aid in balancing the doshas. Apply this to your lips and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before gently washing it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this once or twice a day at a convenient time for you.

Furthermore, you should regularly apply ghee or coconut oil on your lips. They are both excellent natural moisturizers, keeping the vata in check and preventing further dryness. Do this twice daily—once in the morning and before bed.

You might also benefit from performing a gentle lip massage using almond oil. Almond oil is rich in Vitamin E and helps to gradually lighten hyperpigmentation while nourishing your lips.

Avoid using products with harsh chemicals that might further exacerbate the darkness or dryness.

Lastly, ensure you’re managing stress, getting plenty of restful sleep (since stress and lack of sleep impact dosha imbalance), and if possible, protect your lips from excessive sun exposure. Ayurvedic treatments often require patience, as they work on the root causes over time. So, with consistency, you’ll likely begin to notice changes.
